Training/Spars Sign ups!
Hello!! I'm hopping in here right before I head out for the day to provide an ooc sign up sort of thing for Guren's post. Rather than have everyone spar or train with Guren, which is a little limited, I thought it would be fun for him to set people up.
The way this works is Guren will take a look at who agreed to help for teaching/sparring, and who agreed to have an interest in learning, and match some partners out of it! It's something you can handwave with people or work out threads every so often without a strict schedule, just assuming that Guren will check up on them every so often. (And icly, he will unless you'd like to request that he not.)
So! I'll have a couple threads below, and you can fill out this little form:
If there are any other questions, just let me know below! For those who would like your character to be involved but they wouldn't ICly sign up, if Guren just assigning them someone out of the blue would help, fill out a form and let me know we're assuming that, since he's totally the type. I'll get to any questions and the rest of my tags once I'm home from work. Pair ups will happen at first by Friday, right before whatever the event is, but it's never too late to sign up! Guren will occasionally remind people over the network if it goes well and anyone who signs up late will get someone, even if it's Guren until others sign up again.

NOTE
SPARRING / ACTUALLY UNDER NOTE THIS TIME
Character name: Kei Nanjo
Character weapon: Swords and Rifles
Is more than one partner okay?: Yes gimme all of them please
All! Teacher / Sparring / Student
Player name: Kohaku
Character name: Tonbokiri
Character weapon: Spear specialist, 100%. Happens to be ambidextrous. Is really resilient. (Bonus points if you want to take him on while he's riding a horse.)
Extra: While his fighting ability is quite high, Tonbokiri is very good at being a practice partner. (He says an idiom in Japanese that more or less has the meaning of "lending his body to the benefit of a weaker person's practice".)
Of course, he wants to be stronger himself as well, and the range of potential partners against which to hone his own skills and learn from is rather exciting.
Given his legendary cutting prowess, he will be more willing to spar with practice weapons than live. Face bare steel at your own risk.
Is more than one partner okay?: Yes! He'd be in this for the long-term.
ic-ly, Tonbokiri is just barely figuring out the computer thing, and ooc-ly I'm going to be busy/travelling for the next week or so. So feel free to take your time assigning this guy! It'll be a while until he checks his messages anyway. XD
But here, have a link to his inbox so you don't have to hunt for it. ^.^
sparring / student
Character name: Emma
Character weapon: rifles and bows
Extra: Someone needs to teach her how to throw a punch!! Teach the 11 year old how to kill a man with her bare fists, it's all I need. (she has a knife too, it's fine.)
Is more than one partner okay?: I'm a slut for new cr. No, but really the more the merrier.
teacher / sparring
Character name: cairngorm
Character weapon: swords, saws, and scythes! a lot of their fighting is done in the air and against projectiles, so they don't do a lot of 1v1, but they are really proficient at blocking and dodging weapons like arrows. a lot of their work is also done on ice or in snow, so they're good at navigating terrain like that.
Extra: cairn is a harsh, strict type who hates types that goof off/endanger others by being reckless. they're definitely the type to keep someone like that in line! they can be somewhat rude so whoever is paired with them would be exposed to criticism and their grumpy attitude in general. gems like cairn don't really feel that much pain/temperature, can't really get out of breath, and can't get injured (at least not in the way humans can), so for someone afraid of harming another in the process of sparring/learning, they would make a good match.
Is more than one partner okay?: ofc! i think cairn would make a good teacher type bu they also have a lot to learn when it comes to fighting against one person at a time, so both teaching and sparring roles would suit them.
Sparring
Character name: Sorey
Character weapon: Ornamental short sword
Extra: I'm not very versed on fighting terminology myself, so I'm not entirely sure how to describe his fighting style. Here's an arte exhibition video for a visual aid though, if it helps. He's also self-taught in how he fights, so he probably wouldn't be great at teaching, but sparring is the best way he can practice.
Is more than one partner okay?: Yes!

You wanted a sparring partner, so I’ve got you one. Cairngorm, username #C1BA57. They’re not human, so don’t go into it thinking that it’ll be simple. Don’t be afraid to use any of your techniques. I’m pretty sure they can handle it. That’s it from me, but let me know if there are any questions.

Here you go.
Thanks for this btw!
