Announcements
- First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for July. July's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!
- Applications are now open, and can be found here. You do not have to have a reserve to apply. They will remain open until July 7th, 9 PM EST. Current players are welcome to apply for a second character at any point during this applications period.
- Because of the applications period, and because last month was rather busy, this month will be a bit more lowkey. There will be two mini-events this month, rather than one large event and an intro log. The first mini-event will be to welcome the new players into the game, but is geared towards allowing everyone to play in it; therefore, it will not be a standard intro log. The second will be towards the end of the month and a bit darker in content, but still not as large as a full-fledged event.
- We've changed up the Color Timeline to hopefully make it easier to find what colors have changed and when; that can now be found here. Hopefully this makes it easier for everyone to keep track of the setting changes! If there are any colors that have been restored that are missing from it, please be sure to let us know!
- It was brought up to us that not everyone wants to turn their characters to stone for the duration of their hiatus, which is perfectly fine! To streamline things and make things easier for everyone, leaving your characters on autopilot for the duration of your hiatus is entirely acceptable. We've updated the FAQ to reflect that, and also added an additional field to the hiatus form so that gamemates know what to expect when you're gone!
- We'll be having our first monthly HMD on the 15th of this month, now that the game is starting to settle into a proper groove!
Quests
- We know we've already told you guys on the event wrap-up post, but we wanted to leave it here as well! So here's an additional a quick note to please type your characters' text in black on the forum posts. You're more than welcome to use their color additionally, but please be sure that the message is there in black as well, as outlined on the FAQ! A few people have been having some readability issues, so we just wanted to remind everyone to keep that in mind. Thank you all very much!
- We're aware that last month was a bit cram-packed with events and things; if you felt overwhelmed, you're not the only ones; we did too! We're still working on finding a good balance of events and quests for everyone to enjoy, and will keep trying to find the perfect balance. Thank you for your patience with us while we work out the kinks in the game, and thank you all for throwing yourselves into the quests and events so much; it really makes us happy to see!
Color Changes/Rewards
- Quests for July are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post.
- The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed. When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!
- Please be aware that Quests still must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color/Game Timeline):
Color Gains:
- Because the characters have succeeded in hitting 20/20 characters having participated in the positivity quest, the color of the sun has been restored! It also seems warmer now, more light hitting the Town properly.
- On top of that, because the characters hit an additional goal of 30/20 characters being positive, every character in Awash has received a small sun pendant. This pendant will keep them from fatal or serious harm once and only once -- or they can choose a name of their close CR, and it will protect that character from harm once instead. It's an all or nothing thing; they have to decide when they get it! As ever, please make sure to plot with your gamemates if you are going to use it for your CR instead of your own character. When it's used, the pendant will lose all of its color quite suddenly, regardless of if it was used for themselves or for another character.
- As a reward for completing every single quest this past month, characters have restored the color of bronze. Things like door hinges, gears, doorknobs and anything else you can think of of that shade will have had its color restored!
- As a reward for killing the bogeyman, each and every character will find that their sleep for the next two weeks or so is entirely restful; if they are prone to nightmares, they will have pleasant dreams instead, and will wake up feeling restful and restored.
Color Losses:
- Warsaw Nike Flowers
- Dried Soybeans
- For every character who died last month, a food has lost color; please respond here with the food color you'd like to remove from the game if your character died last month!
- Because such a large number of characters died last month, there are no individual color changes this month from Color Logs; strange, that! Almost as if the effort and necessary color to restore those characters came from somewhere...
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

What exactly qualifies as the beginning of the quest? Does it have to be the beginning of the thread, or would it be okay for two characters to run into the chimera by chance, decide to defeat it and immediately hold hands?

1. What can Shiho read from the unicorn, regarding biology or purpose? Is it also placed there just like the other creatures they've found so far? If she tried dissolving the hair in water like with the jorogumo hair, will that make a potion?
2. If Shiho went around touching every doorknob and pushed back as far as she can to see the history of them, specifically looking for anything before they got here, would she be able to do that and could she find anything regarding the town's past?
3. Since the sleep has gotten more restful, would Shiho see anything if she touched someone sleeping during this time? Or is it as if everything's still biologically exactly the same, just that they're more relaxed?
4. For Quest 18, will Shiho be able to see the layout of the castle using her psychometry and find the gem as well while she's at it, or will she have to do some good old-fashioned exploring? For that matter, what will she see when she touches the castle, especially regarding its purpose or any previous inhabitants? Does the gem itself contain any memories even if it doesn't do anything special?

What would happen if Vriska, uh, stole a unicorn's luck? She can generally use these powers to like, ensure an enemy trips, or a pit opens up beneath their feet or something like that. Will powers like hers succeed at slowing a unicorn down?

QUEST 16
Requirements: 1 red, 1 of any other color.
Unicorns are very friendly, when you meet the unicorn requirements. In this instance, those requirements are:
If you don't meet those requirements, you're out of luck!
Ways to succeed: Approach a unicorn, while meeting both of the above requirements. It will be very friendly, and very willing to sit with you while you pluck a hair from its mane. Make sure that if your companion does not meet those requirements, they stand very, very far back.
Ways to fail: Anyone who doesn't meet those requirements can chase unicorns, but they will find that it is totally impossible to catch them. Oh well.

QUEST 17
Requirements: 1 blue.
It's time to show off your stuff! Please note that it doesn't matter if the blue is the one being shot at or the one doing the shooting. Plant an apple on someone's head and take a shot.
Ways to succeed: Shoot the apple. As the quest does not specify, anything that can be considered "shooting" will count -- bows and arrows, guns, a harpoon gun if you've got one, etc. Also, so long as you get the apple, it doesn't matter if you also hit the person. It's still a success!
Ways to fail: Throwing knives, swords, and the like won't count for this one; that's more of a "throwing" thing than a "shooting" thing. Also, obviously, if you don't hit the apple you're not going to complete the quest.

QUEST 18
Requirements: 3 of any color.
The Moondrop Heart is, of course, the gaudy sort of name that belongs to a very gaudy gemstone. It's going to have to be stolen, in a very elaborate way. Any character who takes on this quest with a ragtag team will find that when they go into the woods, there's suddenly a castle out in the woods, if they traverse their way to the cliffs. Where did it come from? We just don't know.
(Note: characters not on this quest will be unable to find the castle.)
Either way, strap in and prepare yourself to sneak in. There are guards, of the sort which are neither very clever nor very strong, but they'll sound the alarm if you get caught and your characters will be dumped right outside of the castle as soon as that's been done.
That's right! This is a stealth mission, so you can't get caught!
Ways to succeed: Steal the gem. The castle layout changes for each attempt, as will the boobytraps and where the gem is hidden. Feel free to change it up for yourself, or come up with as complicated a task as you'd like. Once the gem has been stolen and all three of you have gotten safely out of the castle, the quest has been completed!
The gem can be kept as a memento; it's actually not that pretty, and doesn't do anything special.
Ways to fail: If any of the characters in the quest are caught, they're dumped outside of the castle -- they can either try again, or fail. If three people do not participate, it'll be an automatic failure. If the alarm is sounded by any guards, the same will occur. If the gem is broken or lost, the quest will be failed. This quest has to be completed stealthily. Have fun!

QUEST 19
Requirements: 2 of any color.
You know the Chimera, right? It's a multi-headed creature that will not hesitate to kill anyone who comes near it. It breathes fire, too, for additional fun. This question shouldn't be too hard -- you just have to defeat it, not even kill it.
Except for the additional little caveat.
Ways to succeed: You have to knock out or kill a chimera while holding hands with someone. It has to be another human being, of course; you can't bring along a puppet or something. Please be aware that their hands must be attached from beginning of the quest to the end of the quest to succeed.
Ways to fail: On the flip side, if they let go of the other person's hand at any point, that's it. The quest is over, they have failed. And naturally if they get crisped by the chimera, it's safe to say they've failed the quest too. Good luck!

Quest 19
Character Colors: Red (#900014 and #EA0000)

Failure/Success: Success! They're even holding hands after the chimera is down! They're doing a very thorough job, you see!!
