Hello everyone!

We wanted to give everyone a quick update on endgame things, as well as a few reminders, as the game draws to a close.

  • First, please be sure to submit what your character is writing in the Town's fairy tale book when you can! Submissions will be accepted until 9/27, just to give us enough time to write up a final wrap-up post with what the characters' submissions will create in the Town.

Submissions can be found here with updated submissions here. More information about submissions can be found on that post. Don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions!

  • Quest rewards for last month's quest will be delivered after that deadline.

  • A final event log will be posted on 9/28 as a sort of farewell/wrap-up log, alongside all of the changes the characters have wrought in the past month.

  • Finally, as some characters have discovered by venturing into the woods in search of the mystical hen, the pages of the characters that go into the book are very necessary to go home. Each character must put in their own page (or someone else can put it in for them, the book isn't picky) in order to go home. This isn't something that has to be threaded out -- we just wanted everyone to know so they could make proper endgame plans!

Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for sticking with us on the steps to endgame!

The End.

The End
[ 9/7 - ??? ]

The time has finally come.

It's finally time...for the end of this fairy tale that the characters have found themselves a part of. Originally, the end was a tragic one -- a curse, a lost love, and a forgotten Town. But this time? This time, maybe the characters can fix things, and make for a happier ending.

Please note that this isn't, per se, a proper event. We'll be giving everyone the remaining details necessary for endgame, and then letting you all loose to do with them what you will for the remainder of the month. We will post a log on Saturday, 9/7, for the majority of the threading to do with what's to come, but you are all naturally welcome to make your own posts or logs -- whatever makes the most sense!

Please do not hesitate to use the OOC comm as well to plot with your fellow players and drag everyone into the sorts of aspects of endgame you'd like to play with!

There are three aspects to endgame -- after all, all things in fairy tales come in threes!
1. The first aspect is one that you are all aware of, and that everyone has already dove into! The book that was found beneath the Town has to do with the characters' endings. Anything to do with the characters themselves, what they will experience after the Town, where they will go, what they will remember, what they can do...etc, etc, etc all has to do with what's written in said book. Do your best, everyone!

Without a proper story in the book, the characters will definitely struggle to find the ending they want.

2. The second aspect of endgame is returning color to the Town. This, as many people have guessed, has to do with the magical hen referenced in the original fairy tale on the forum post. Because many people have, over the months, expressed interest in finding said hen, we'd like to make that as interactive and fair as possible! Due to that, we will have sign ups open for those who would like to throw their hats in the ring for actually finding the hen. Sign-ups can be found here. Please sign up by 9/6, 9 PM EST.

Other characters are welcome to try, but they will fail. Any character who goes into the woods this month looking for the hen will find themselves facing increasingly intense fairy tale tests, until they are no longer able to overcome them.

Please feel free to generate your own fairy tale tests at will for your adventuring parties into the woods!

3. The final aspect of endgame is the one that will most likely impact the majority of characters -- because this month, starting Saturday, the trees have stopped playing around, and the woods has lost its patience.

The trees will storm the Town, suddenly able to move much more quickly than one would expect -- and it will be all-out war between the Town and the characters, and the woods. The trees will try to attack the characters, but they will also try to destroy the Town. Either option will be considered a win condition for the woods, so the characters will have to protect not only themselves, but also the Town. After all, if the Town is totally destroyed...well, they'll never be able to really say they experienced a Happily Ever After here.

The trees are magical in nature -- they are stronger, sturdier, and more intense than you'd expect. They can drain color with a touch, from both characters and items in the Town (and even the player's own items from home), so be really careful! But otherwise? They will honestly just try to crush and smash and rip apart anything that's in their way.

And as ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here. Thanks, everyone!

Hello everyone, and welcome to September's monthly mod post! Please be sure to read all of this post.

Mechanics
  • There is no AC for the month of September.
  • The majority of endgame will be happening this month -- so if there's anything your characters have needed to do or that you're desperate for them to get done before the end of the game, now's the time! Please don't hesitate to bring forward ideas to us, and we'll find a way to make it all happen. There are only two important aspects that are currently "plot-blocked" -- the hen from the fairy tale and the forest -- and those will be opened up this month for all character shenanigans. Don't be afraid to make endgame your own!
Announcements
This is very important, so please give this a quick read! Now that characters have been experimenting with the book found beneath the Town, and some have even successfully managed to write in it, we wanted to set up a little bit more information so that everyone's in the loop on what's going on there. It took some experimenting, but thanks to the efforts of some of your fellow players, you've got some guidelines to go off of. The book is very important for endgame -- not necessarily for the fate of the Town, but for the fate of the characters going home especially.

  • The book can be written in once per character. Each character can only write a sentence.
  • Characters can only write about themselves (ie the characters in the Town), or the future of the Town to some extent; writing about anything else will cause the ink to disappear. (Don't be afraid of playing out failures -- characters can keep trying without using up their one allotted sentence until something they write sticks).
  • Characters have a limited scope of what they can write. They can only influence a little by themselves (the general rule of thumb is "one small idea" or "one sentence"). If multiple characters write one line together, utilizing their bonds, a greater scope can be influenced. For example: a single character could write that, when they go home, they will retain their own memories of Awash. Five characters, writing together, could write that there will be a way for them to send letters across worlds (but only in their own worlds).
  • Please don't have your character write things that are supposed to influence the entire game at large. Even if it ICly would work, OOCly we cannot enforce that every single character will be affected by something without player permission. If your character is going to write something about another character, please be sure you have player permission for it. For that reason, sweeping statements like "[Character] writes that every character in the Town has a sudden love for teddy bears" won't be plausible.
  • Even if you gather up a huge force of characters, sentences that would immediately end the game (such as "they all lived happily ever after") also won't work. This is just due to the nature of writing an endgame -- we want to make sure everyone has the chance to contribute and see the game through to the end, and something like that being successful would end the game immediately.
  • If your character has something to write, don't hesitate to shoot us a PM, and we'll go over what will work and what won't -- if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
  • A list of sentences already written can be found here.
  • Ultimately, the idea is that the characters are writing their own ending all together -- but this isn't the only piece of endgame, and is mostly relevant to the characters' own personal returns and futures.
  • Plot
    • The creatures from the well continue to show up every now and then, though in much lesser numbers than in last month's event. They are much less threatening, considering there's maybe a trickle of three or four over the course of an entire week. Still...they're a little unnerving, aren't they?

    • This month's endgame plot will have to do with the trees, and a mysterious little hen that might seem a bit familiar... Keep your eyes peeled for a bit more information in the upcoming month, and don't be afraid to bring up other pieces of the plot that you'd like to explore further via PM!
    Quests
    • There are no quests for the month of September that can be turned in for a reward. The final quest on the forum post is a little grandiose, but...hey, you get the idea, right?

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience; we have a few updates here in regards to endgame, so please read this carefully! As we've reached the deadline for taking over as mods, we'll progress with endgame as planned. Here are a few details for things you'll need to know for the future of the game.

    Applications
    - Applications will be open from tomorrow, 8/11 at PM EST, onward. They will not close until the game is over. For new players and characters, a proper application must still be written.

    - For returning characters who have been in the game before, there is a reclaim form on the Applications page at the bottom of the page. Just submit that form to the app page and you'll be good to go! Please note that reclaims are first come first served in the case of characters who have had multiple players.

    - Though this is endgame, the cast cap and player cap will remain intact. The game will still cap out at 80 players, and casts are still capped at 6. Likewise, players can still only play 2 characters.

    - Applications will be processed in weekly batches, on Fridays.

    Activity Check
    - For the remainder of the game's lifespan, AC will be check-in only. We're assuming that everyone who remains in the game at this point is doing so because they'd like to be a part of endgame!

    - The AC form has been tweaked to reflect this, but AC will still be done on google forms, just as before.

    - AC is now open for August, and can be found here. The spreadsheet to check your submission is here.

    Endgame/Events
    - The beginning Endgame event will begin 8/16, with more info posted on 8/14. In the meantime, we'll be compiling information to give everyone a quick summary of what plot info has been discovered as quickly as we can!

Thank you for all of your patience with this process, everyone, and we hope that endgame ends up being satisfying and fun for everyone in the game!

Hello everyone, and welcome to August's monthly mod post! Please be sure to read all of this post. We have some very important announcements this month.

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed.
    • Characters removed via AC:
      Noctis (nascere)
      Nyx (sirnyxalot)
      Ignis (subzeroes)
      Keith (parakalein)
      Kuron (kuron)
      Shiro (paladads)
      Shiho (good_ideas)

    • We've added a Plot sharing OOC post, so that everyone can share what pieces of the plot their characters have uncovered to help everyone put it all together! Please be sure to give it a look! We'll be summarizing everything in it and bringing it all together in a later post, when we update everyone on the following situation, so please submit what you have there sooner rather than later!
    Announcements
As can be seen from the IC Quest post, the fairy tale of Awash has come to an end. This means the game's planned arc is also coming to an end, which means a few important things:

Endgame: It's with a heavy heart that we, the mod team of awash, have to acknowledge that we no longer have the time or energy to run this game any longer. After this endgame arc, we will be stepping down.

That said, we want Awash to have the most satisfying possible outcome for its players -- after all, the game wouldn't be what it is if not for all of you! So we have a couple of options that we'd like to lay out, to be as clear and transparent as possible.

New mods - If anyone who is currently in the game would like to take over Awash and step up as its new mod team, please PM or email us by August 10th, 2019. We need to know ASAP so we can know what sort of event to set up later this month! We'll gladly hand the game over to anyone who wants to keep it going.

Endgame - If new mods do not come forward, we will continue to run Awash's planned endgame. Here are a few quick details as an overview:
    • Currently, endgame is planned to be no longer than two months, though it may be shorter depending on character choices and player actions.
    • Endgame will be player choice run. We will set up the current endgame scenario, but if people have things they would like to do or change with the upcoming events, we are 100% open to it! Please feel free to PM us at any time to do so.
    • Endgame will begin with this month's event.
    • Applications will be open for the remainder of Awash's lifespan to allow people to join in on endgame if they are interested, with a reclaim option for people who have been here before.
    • Activity Check will be check-in only for the remainder of the game's lifespan. We're assuming that anyone who is here for endgame is here because they're interested in seeing the game to a proper close!

Post-Endgame - We will discuss this more as we come closer to reaching this, but we did want to also say that we are considering a few post-endgame options, such as setting Awash up as an unmoderated, open sandbox (or a moderated one, if people are interested in stepping up as those mods), or similar things. We'll address these options properly in a few months!

Thanks for bearing with us, everyone -- we'll keep everyone posted and aware of any changes that may come up as they happen.
    Plot
    • The characters in the Town have done a great job of keeping the trees back in any way they can think of possible, and for awhile there, it's been working. However, in the night, there's groaning from the woods, and characters might notice that the trees are once again creeping closer, bit by bit.

      Oh, and one more thing.

Some mornings, characters might wake up feeling drained and tired... and when they look at themselves? They'll be missing color, a washed out version of themselves. It lasts only a moment before they snap back to their usual selves.

      What's that about?
    Quests
    • Quests for August are now up(?)! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post. Only quests for this month can be turned in for a reward.

    • The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed.

    • Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this will be very important for Awash's endgame!
    Color Changes/Rewards
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • For completing all of the quests last month, characters have restored the color of the well in the middle of the Town.

    • If your character has a color log thread from the month of August, please go here to submit a thread! This will be plot relevant!

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: Pears, blue salt, cobblestone roads, bluefin tuna, beef, orthrus, rope, blueberries, butter, lettuce, cats, lizards, chocolate, hazelnuts, banshees, papayas, library table, fallen/dried leaves, cairn terriers, cheese, honey, broccoli, sardines, cherries.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. As a quick note, we know there are a couple of forest scenarios waiting on us; thank you for your patience, and we'll hopefully be able to get to them soon. Thank you, everyone!

Hello to all of our newcomers, and welcome to Awash! Thank you for your interest in the game, and we hope you have a good time here! This is just a quick mod post with two purposes: to help the new people get settled into the game, and to introduce tomorrow's mini-event!

    AC

    • New characters must submit half-AC.
    • Those requirements, as well as the AC post, can be found here.
    • Please be sure to also read the general AC guidelines, here! It is very important that you do, as we will not be granting AC exemptions due to the capped nature of the game.

    Gameplay Mechanics
    • Character housing, now that the application round is over, can be found here! This is where characters can find their laptops, though they are by no means required to stay there; they can move at will, and their laptop will function in whatever new home they pick. The spreadsheet is editable, so please feel free to move your characters around!
    • Quests can be done by incoming players at any point once they have been introed. Quests can ICly be found here. OOCly, further information can be found here! Please be aware that only quests of the current month can be completed for a reward. Past quests can be done if you would like to, but will receive no reward.
    • A list of current restored colors can be found here; please be aware that no colors have been restored for new characters yet. That means that their text color will be black, and their homes, unless shared with a current character, will have no color.
    • The OOC meet and greet can be found here.

    Event Log
    • A mingle log can be found here, to provide a general introduction to the game. Due to the sizes of the current app rounds in the game, the intro logs also serve as mini-events, with a bit more to play with.

    See The Bonnets Blue
    [ 7/8 - 7/12 ]

There are a two major points of note here re: the intro log/event log -- what's happening with the newly arrived characters, and what's happening with the characters as a whole. So let's break it down!

Newly arrived characters will arrive in the well, as always! They'll end up in the bottom of the well, absolutely frigid water coming up to about knee-deep. It's far larger on the inside than it would seem, but either way, the only way up is the top of the well, the opening there. Thankfully, previous characters have long since installed ropes and ladders, and an alarm bell to ring -- it's a bit easier to get yourselves out of there than it used to be.

Thankfully, that part of things is easy. They unfortunately will start to realize that things are weird about this Town basically...immediately.

This time around, every character is going to find that they have a flower in their hands. No matter what they do with it, it's too late once they touch it -- the effects will have taken effect practically immediately, and will depend on what kind of flower they end up with. Effects will depend on that flower's "flower language" -- but reversed. For example, if your character ends up with a pink rose, which symbolizes "grace", amongst other things, they could suddenly be a terrible, horrible klutz. The possibilities are endless, so please don't hesitate to be creative with what flower language you use and how you interpret it! Nothing is rigid here in the least.

There are flowers of all shapes and sizes everywhere in the Town. Who knows where they showed up from? They're just suddenly there, scattered across the paths, planted in the ground...maybe even chilling in your own houses.

Of course, it gets a bit more complicated than that. The effects will last the entirety of the couple of days that the event does... unless they give them away to another character in a bouquet. They will know, once they touch a flower, that if they give it to someone else, they will be free of the effect plaguing them... but, naturally, that'll just transfer said effects to the other person, so what a double-edged sword that is... Note that it does have to be a bouquet that they give to the other character, so whether they grab more of the same flower or take a risk and mix and match effects is up to them, but it has to be more than one flower.

Effects do stack as well (and some cancel out, if you're really lucky/clever with your flower combos), so be creative! And if you need some ideas, these are some good places to start!

After this log, new characters will be welcome to create logs and posts as you please! Please be sure to read over the FAQ once more before you begin playing.

As ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here. Thank you, and welcome again to the game!

Hello everyone, and welcome to July's monthly mod post! Please be sure to read all of this post.

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for July. July's AC Post can be found here.
    • Applications are now open! They can be found here.
    • Characters removed via AC:
      Kamijou Touma
      Ignis Scientia
      Summer Moran

    • We've added a Plot sharing OOC post, so that everyone can share what pieces of the plot their characters have uncovered to help everyone put it all together!
    Plot
    • The trees have been pushed back a fair ways due to the efforts of a handful of characters using their ink for that purpose -- but they're slowly starting to encroach again, all the more aggressively now. It seems the characters just managed to buy some time with that one.

Now, if characters go near the trees in the woods, they will occasionally try to actively trip up or attack the characters with branches and roots. That'll make quests a little trickier.
    Quests
    • Quests for July are now up!

When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!

    • Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
    Color Changes/Rewards
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • For completing all of the quests last month, characters have restored the color of mountains. Granted, the only mountains that can be see are at the far edge of the woods, but with two of the three forest guardians defeated, maybe getting to the edge of the woods to see them is a bit more viable...?

    • If your character has a color log thread from the month of June, please go here to submit a thread! After that, the mods will let you know what color that thread has restored.

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: Duck eggs, shirts, robins, bats, canaries, pigs, matcha tea powder, pine cones, firewood, straw, beer, avocados, church stained glass, mittens, will-o-wisps, lavender, library inner walls, house boat roofs, water, thread, cows, pepper jack cheese, pumpkins, persimmons, sleigh bells

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for June. June's AC Post can be found here.
    • Drops from AC:
Prompto ( [personal profile] photoshooter )
Tsurumaru ( [personal profile] cranelike )

    Plot
    • The trees are moving closer again. They paused for a month, but now they've started to properly grow into the Town, slowly but surely -- their roots, their branches... some of them even may grow through your wall or block your door. They can be hacked down, but you'll want to be careful; as ever, cutting down too much of the weird trees from the woods will cause your character to start to lose some of their emotions for a temporary period of time.

Please let us know if anything dramatic is done to try to push the trees back -- it'll be very important for the future!
    Quests

    There Was A Princess
    [ 5/8 - 5/12 ]

Because everyone has found themselves a princess this time around. Don't panic, though -- what that means will, in fact, be different for everyone, because there is a wide range of princesses in fairy tales.

Your character might end up with extremely (and I mean extremely) long hair all of a sudden. Perhaps they're in a beautiful gown, or perhaps they've been shoved into rags. Maybe they suddenly can't sleep on any single mattress in the Town because they can feel even the smallest of lumps underneath, or maybe they suddenly have a tendency to be kidnapped by someone else, even though there's really nobody doing the kidnapping.

This goes for locations as well, of course -- your character might suddenly find themselves locked in a tower in the woods for no apparent reason; it just happens, because now they're that kind of princess. Maybe you have to sacrifice your voice for something or just fall into a big long sleep -- these things just happen sometimes.

Effects can stack, stories can be twisted, and you can be as creative as you'd like; so long as it's vaguely princess-like in some way, it can absolutely happen to your character.

Any costumes, props or the like that appear due to your character's new princess life will stick around after the event, but big setting changes (like said towers in the woods) will fade away. The intro log will be up tomorrow, 5/8!

After this log, new characters will be welcome to create logs and posts as you please! Please be sure to read over the FAQ once more before you begin playing.

As ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here. Thank you, and welcome again to the game!

Hello everyone, and welcome to May's monthly mod post! Please be sure to read all of this post.

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for May. May's AC Post can be found here.

    • Applications are currently open! There are plenty of slots, so invite your friends to come play!
    Plot
    • The trees haven't ended up coming any closer as of yet, but they still loom alarmingly close. The event may be over, and characters may have recovered, but if any characters chop down or otherwise harm a tree from the woods, they will suffer from similar effects to the event. In other words, they'll lose some of their emotion for a brief period of time!
    • Characters will also note, if they do enough of it, that they are drawn towards the woods the more emotion they lose. If a character ends up totally apathetic, they'll end up wandering into the woods alarmingly often, as if subconsciously. Weird.

    • If characters happen to find the trees that were given color in the woods from characters completing quests last month (there are not many of them!) and decide to chop them down for some reason (:(), they will find that they do not experience any side effects at all. It's only chopping down the colorless trees that causes the side effects above.
    Quests
    • Quests for May are now up!

    • For completing all of the quests last month, characters have restored the color of soil. The ground around the Town will start to seem much richer. Likewise, they'll find that the colors below can be found quite a lot around the Town.

    • If your character has a color log thread from the month of April, please go here to submit a thread! After that, the mods will let you know what color that thread has restored.

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: Red cabbage, eclairs, popcorn, library outer walls, flan, chimera, harpies, blue crab, frost, cilantro, bunnies, mongoose, cucumbers, hummingbirds, cobwebs, cornbread, town hall roof, ginger, burnt toast, marshmallows, string lights, angora bunnies, tomatoes, seagulls, pie tins, laurel wreaths, starfish, shoelaces, sea eagles, boysenberries, caramel, golden rings, golems, wrapping paper, candy canes, town hall ceiling, sheet music, rice, barn owls, scarves, sweet potatoes, library chairs

Hello everyone, and welcome to April's monthly mod post! Please be sure to read all of this post -- we've got a few different things in store for this month

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for April. April's AC Post can be found here.

    • Characters removed via AC this month:
      merlin (avalonesome)
      katsuki bakugo (bombingking)
      hotarumaru (lampyris)
    Plot
    • The trees are looming way, way too close lately, aren't they? No matter how the characters try to push them back and hack them down, they just reappear by the next morning. They haven't encroached on the Town properly yet, but they are right up on the edge of it, colorless and silent and ominous.

If characters spend too much time around the woods this month, including if they go into the woods for forest scenarios, they may find that things are much more dangerous than usual. Please keep that in mind! For those who have already sent in requests for forest scenarios, you will be given the option of backdating the scenario or encountering a more dangerous than usual one.

Characters may suddenly collapse near the woods after spending too much time around the trees, and when they wake up, they will remember nothing but an ominous feeling of being watched. They'll be sick for a few days after that, so be careful, everyone!

For now, there are no consequences to hacking down the trees. For now.

    Color Changes/Rewards
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • New characters have now had their text color restored on the forum, as well as the color of their houses that they're living in.

    • For completing all of the quests last month, characters have restored the color of the harbor piers.

    • If your character has a color log thread from the month of March, please go here to submit a thread! After that, the mods will let you know what color that thread has restored.

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: Wheat, green paint, sparrows

    Event Log
    • A mingle log will go up tomorrow, March 8th at 9 PM EST, to provide a general introduction to the game. Due to the sizes of the current app rounds in the game, the intro logs also serve as mini-events, with a bit more to play with.

    Blasting Hot Stove
    [ 3/8 - 3/12 ]

Once they get out of there, though, they'll realize things are a bit weird in this Town.

You see, scattered around Town there are a bunch of glimmering, sparkling scales. The scales come in all different colors, all rough and cold to the touch, and all utterly impossible to break down in any way. They're fireproof, magic-proof... and they have a very, very strong sense of magic coming off of them as well.

Most importantly? Each of these scales has a different effect, based off of color. And if you pick one up? You're going to be stuck with that effect for anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

    - Blue scales: You will feel a very strong desire to destroy buildings. Just any building that ends up in your path. You just want to make it burn. Or collapse. Or anything along those lines really. The urge is incredibly strong, so maybe someone should hold you back.
    - Red scales: Will make you breathe fire. Even if you cough or sneeze, fire's going to come out. It's apparently very hard to control. Even if you're just having a conversation, sometimes you might just breathe fire.
    - Purple scales: Will poison you. That sucks. At least it can be cured via magic or other poison-curing options, until you touch it again.
    - Yellow scales: Will make you want to hoard things. It can be anything -- maybe it's gold, maybe it's old shoes. Either way, you'll have an incredibly strong urge to hoard it all away from anyone who could touch it. If they try, you might bite.
    - Orange scales: You can suddenly only speak in roars, hisses and growls. You'll have the words in your head, but only monstrous noises will come out. Or squeaky growls, maybe, because it hasn't really changed your vocal cords. No matter how hard you try, you'll be stuck with only those noises instead of proper speech.
    - Green scales: You have a strong belief that suddenly, you can fly. It doesn't matter if you have absolutely no flight capabilities; you're sure you can fly if people just let you jump off of that roof. (Note: This does not actually grant the capability to fly.)
These scales can be found all over Town -- in your houses, in the street, at the edge of the woods -- and they're just incredibly tempting to pick up, glittering on the ground as they are.

After this log, new characters will be welcome to create logs and posts as you please! Please be sure to read over the FAQ once more before you begin playing.

As ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here. Thank you, and welcome again to the game!

Hello everyone, and welcome to March's monthly mod post, and happy anniversary! Please be sure to read all of this post -- we've got a few different things in store for this month

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for March. March's AC Post can be found here.

    • Characters removed via AC this month:
      Nyx Ulric (sirnyxalot)
      Momose (rerevale)
      Tsunayoshi Sawada (goeshyper)

    • Applications are currently open. There are 24 slots for incoming new players. They will close March 7th, 9 PM EST. Current players can submit an app for a second character at any time during this period, regardless of the player cap.

    • We're currently working on setting up a page for player-run character resources (such as the Notice Board and the Defense Force); when that has been properly set up, we'll announce it. We hope that it will serve as a good place to gather helpful information for all of the players in the game that is currently being handled by other players. If there are any suggestions or requests on how you would like to see that laid out, please don't hesitate to let us know!
    Plot
    • Due to the efforts of a group of characters in the game, the forest seems to have been...stalled. It hasn't been pushed back, not completely, but it doesn't seem to be advancing further. For now, it will remain there, with the same side-effects as it had last month if too much time is spent near it.
    • As ever in intro months, this month's plot will come in two parts -- there will be a smaller event to go along with the intro log, and then a more full-fledged event at the end of the month.
    Quests
    • Quests for March are now up!

    • For completing all of the quests last month, characters have restored the color of sea foam. Hmm... maybe the next target for colors is the harbor and ocean beyond?

    • If your character has a color log thread from the month of February, please go here to see what your character restored!

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: Ketchup, Brussel sprouts, arrow shafts, chickens, church altar, satyr, brandy, nutmeg, chestnuts, spiders, black chickens, acorns, library shelves, lobsters, butterflies

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

Hello everyone, and welcome to February's monthly mod post! Please be sure to read all of this post -- we've got a few different things in store for this month

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for February. February's AC Post can be found here.

    • Characters removed via AC this month:
      ken amada (stophamatime)
      lin xianming (fluent)
      michael mell (retrobeats)
      rakan (stickbow)
      ryuunosuke tsunashi (awamori)

    • We've had a few mishaps with people misunderstanding the AC requirements, so we'd like to explain them again. A toplevel counts as a single thread, all of its subthreads included. If you are going to use it as an AC proof, you need an additional thread outside of that toplevel to pass AC. This is outlined in the AC guide, but we thought we'd explain it again just in case!

    • The TDM for next month's app round will be up February 22nd, to hopefully allow everyone time to try out new characters and get samples for March's app round, which will open March 1st.
    Plot
    • So something's changed in the Town this month. It might take the characters some time to notice, though things will definitely feel a little ominous, and a little uncanny as characters progress into the new month. It'll feel almost like they're being watched, and almost like something very dangerous is not too far away.

      It's the trees, of course.

It seems as though the woods suddenly encroached on the north of the Town, as if overnight. What was once open, clear Town is now overrun with trees from the woods, looming ominously. Roots have overgrown some of the pathways, branches have covered some of the buildings...

It's only a matter of a few feet into the Town proper, but nonetheless, any character who looks at it will have a very, very strong sense of foreboding.

    • Other things of note with the trees advancing: characters who have a strong sense for the supernatural/magic/darkness/etc will definitely be plagued with headaches and nausea the closer they get, though it's nothing crippling.

    • Characters may also notice that the parts of the Town the trees touch, towards the middle and end of the month, will lose all color that they had before, even if it was restored properly by the characters. If you're living in one of the houses the trees are encroaching on, you might want to think fast and either move or come up with a solution!
    Quests
    • Quests for February are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post. Only quests for this month can be turned in for a reward.

    • Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
    Color Changes/Rewards
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • For completing all of the quests last month, and because so much of the sky has been restored via the characters' hard work, the color of the sky entirely has now been restored. There is not a single shred of the sky that will not have color, no matter what time it is or what weather the Town is having. Maybe next month, the Town's color restorations will now move on to something else...?

    • If your character has a color log thread from the month of January, please respond at this comment to choose what color you would like to restore for the month. This month, there aren't any restrictions; you can choose any color you would like to restore!

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: library inner walls, red beans, oysters, swans, herons, woodpeckers, fall leaves, maple syrup, purple paint, papayas, strawberries, ivy, salamanders, apple cider, milk, bluebirds, swallows, doors, town hall floor, poinsettias, blue corn, dandelions, great tits, bread rolls

    To the Wood
    [ Wrap-up ]

With the wrap-up of the event, the thorns will stop moving in on the Town, but will not disappear. If characters want to clean up the place, they will have to remove those thorny vines themselves. At least they won't replace themselves this time? Still, what a pain.

A few more things of note:

    • Characters who were cursed and not cured (whether threaded or not, it's fine for it to have been handwaved!), please contact us for further consequences! The curse will not simply disappear with the end of the event.

    • The castle will remain out in the woods, and it can still be found; it will be harder to be found if the vines are all destroyed, as that path will not longer be so easy to follow, but nonetheless characters who are persistent can find it. The castle can still be looted, and still has a ton of dangerous monsters living inside of it. Please note that items in the castle will not replenish themselves; in other words, when the castle's wine supply has been looted, there will be no more wine.

    • The vines and thorns can still curse characters, and they will mysteriously not wither and die even if chopped up. If characters trip over them later, the curse will come back, and if characters keep thorns to stab people with for some awful reason, the curse will be in effect for those who they stab. So be cautious! Characters will always have a week to be cured from the curse before deeper consequences happen; if you would like your character to stumble across being cursed later, you can always message us for consequences!

That's it -- thanks everyone for participating and enjoying the event! If you have any questions, please ask them here. Naturally, this doesn't mean that you have to stop threading by any means; take your time and enjoy your threads for as long as you'd like.

    Pity the Poor Step-Sister
    [ 1/8 - 1/12 ]

Also, they might notice that they're not exactly in the clothing they expected to end up in down there, either. It seems something strange is happening in the Town once again, and they're getting caught up in it. Because...

Everyone, for the remainder of the event is going to experience some...odd fairy tale trickery going on this next week or so. All characters, old and new, will find that every now and then, they are shoved into a fairy tale role. They might be a princess, or a peasant, or a wicked witch. They might be a prince, a soldier, an older brother, the beautiful third sister. They'll be shoved into clothes befitting those roles (or possibly very little clothing at all, in the case of creatures like the Beast from Beauty and the Beast), and while they'll continue to be themselves, they may find that their circumstances end up a little...strange.

For so long as they're stuck in a role, they will have situations happen to them as would happen to a fairy tale figure of that role. For example, a princess might find themselves being kidnapped constantly, despite being in the safety of the Town; one second they're peacefully minding their own business, the next they're trapped in some cellar dungeon somewhere in the Town. Because the Town itself will be morphing and molding to fit these tropes and roles -- and then snapping right back to normal when that "setting" is no longer needed. So if the princess is rescued from the dungeon, suddenly said dungeon will be gone, even though it was there just a moment ago, you swear it was.

Rapunzel may suddenly have their hair grow extremely long, but also plop a tower in the middle of the Town. An "elder brother" role may suddenly be facing near death experiences on the regular, out of nowhere (because, after all, only the youngest brother succeeds in these sorts of tales), whereas a "younger sister" role may be constantly dragged off to face endless stupid tasks, or to be married to someone. Who? We just don't know.

Because that's the odd thing about this situation. The other "characters" in these fairy tales? They're all nothing but faceless blank puppets, lacking in emotions or voices or eyes. They just mechanically go through their role (whether that be trying to cut off your hands or trying to marry you), and if they are cut down, eventually another will just take its place. Hm, spooky.

The nice thing about this situation is that these roles don't last forever; a character could be stuck in the same role all week, or they could end up in multiple for brief periods of time. It's entirely up to you! All fairy tale roles are fair game so long as the character in question is humanoid. For instance, the Beast, the dwarves, and the like would be fine, but nobody's going to be shuffled into the role of a random horse this time.

When the event is over and done, characters will find that the clothing they were wearing for whatever role they got stuck in sticks around...and so do the "corpses" of those weird creepy puppets that were taken down over the course of the event.

Please feel free to be creative, and to use any roles that pop out at you or appeal to you from any fairy tales at all; the Town will shift to accommodate the story, and the bit character dolls will do everything they can to make that story play out properly. If you're looking for ideas, a good resource can be found here or here to poke around fairy tales!

For newbies, please don't feel restrained to just the rescue for your intro log toplevels! You can assume that your character got out in some way or another in order to work in multiple prompts for the event if you would like to do so.

    • After this log, new characters will be welcome to create logs and posts as you please! Please be sure to read over the FAQ once more before you begin playing.

As ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here. Thank you, and welcome again to the game!

Hello everyone, and welcome to January's monthly mod post! Happy new year!

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for January. January's AC Post can be found here. Because December's AC was a check-in AC, you can submit threads with any character for January's AC, but otherwise the requirements are back to normal!

    • No characters were removed via AC this round.

    • Applications are currently open! There are currently 9 open slots for new players.

    • As always with applications rounds, there will be two events this month: an event geared towards welcoming the newcomers while still providing things for the current players to play with, and a meatier event towards the end of the month.

    • The pages have been a bit cleaned up, and the layout tweaked, to hopefully make them a bit easier to read while on mobile!

    • The locations page has been updated to reflect the current state of the game with the addition of current landmarks. Additionally, if your character has impacted the Town in any way that you would like other players to know about (such as adding locations that would be useful to the game at large), please let us know here so that we can add them to the page!
    Quests
    • Quests for January are now up!

When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!

    • Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month! Because of the holidays last month, quests could be turned in while incomplete; however, that was only for the month of December, so please have your quests completed before submitting them.
    Color Changes/Rewards
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • For completing all of the quests last month, for all of the current characters in Awash, their houses are now fully colored -- in other words, anything that didn't have color yet now does. The roof, the walls, the floor, the items within the house... for each character, their houses are now bright and colorful and probably a little blinding, if you're used to the floors being a colorless grey. Enjoy!

    • Please also see this comment for special color changes your characters have brought about via their bonds last month!

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: Sunset purple, green ink, kingfisher birds, grapefruit peels, crows, bananas, squash, glass, locks, the floor of the library, lobster, lilies, dark leather, yarn, pigeons, flannel, library roof, butterflies, curtains in Bluo, blue potatoes, mice, cranberries, owls, lavender plants, the outer walls of the church, red snapper, playing cards, the inner walls of the town hall, blood oranges, and granola

Hello, everyone! We hope your holidays have been going well. We just wanted to make sure everyone's on the same page, and announce some quick tweaks!

    Announcements
    • Due to the insanity of the holidays, there is no new TDM for this app round, but we highly encourage everyone to use the previous TDM if they require samples!

    • To try to cut down on confusion and streamline the application system, we've decided on this for TDMs: we will write a new TDM every other app round, and will bump the previous TDM for the in between rounds. We hope that this helps clarify things, and is also a fair compromise between the number of app slots and having a place to get samples and try out new characters! We'll update the calendar soon to reflect this.

    • So with that in mind, please be sure to check out the previous TDM here to help players obtain samples and try out their characters!

    • Applications will open January 1st, 9 PM EST and they will close January 7th, 9 PM EST.

    • There is no reserves period, and a reserve is not required to apply.

    • Because the holidays are such a crazy period for everyone, for the month of December only you do not have to finish your quest threads to turn them in. You can submit any quest threads that have been started. We hope that helps everyone out!

    • Please remember as well that AC this month is check-in AC; further details can be found here.

Thank you for your interest in the game, everyone, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask here or at the FAQ. Thank you for your patience with us as well during this holiday season, and we're looking forward to January with everyone!

Hello everyone, and welcome to December's monthly mod post! Here are your color changes and news for the upcoming month! Happy winter holidays as well! Please be sure to give especially the AC section a read.

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for December. December's AC Post can be found here. Please note that due to December being a very busy month for many people, December's AC is a check-in AC with some basic requirements. Please read the AC post for more details!

    • Characters removed via AC are:
      Alexa Hase (poetryslamming)
      Jade Harley (spacedogeity)
      Nico di Angelo (umbraportation)
      Rebakah Cooper (provostsdog)
      Rose Lalonde (grimdeity)

    • Applications will open again in January, on January 1st! At the moment, we have 12 slots for new players. We don't have any plans as of this moment for a new TDM for December with how busy December tends to be for everyone, but please let us know if it would help players to have one!

    • This month's event will involve sign-ups for particular parts of it; with that in mind, we'll be putting the post up a little early so players have time to keep an eye out for it. It will be a little less intense compared to last month's event, both to give everyone a breather and also to allow for peoples' breaks from RP for the holidays, but it should hopefully give some insight into the past of the Town!
    Quests
    • Quests for December are now up!

    • All new characters have had their text color restored, and the outside color of their houses. Their houses will all be shades of the district they live in -- for example, shades of yellow for Flavo.
    • For completing all of the quests last month, the characters have restored the daytime sky. Blue skies are all theirs once again, after so long of waiting. The sky finally has color properly again, sans some very specific times, like sunrise.

    • Through their efforts and bonding this past month, characters have also restored some specific, special holiday colors. However, you won't get to know what they are until you pick a thread from your color log to submit! Please choose one thread from your color log to submit here. Each player can submit one, and will get to see what that particular thread has restored! Please be aware the thread must be from the past month to be valid for this.

    • Because the Ice Queen's throne was destroyed during the event, characters will find that they generally have a heightened immunity to the cold this month. It's not perfect immunity by any means, but they can at least hang out in the snow longer without being totally miserable!

    Color Losses:

    • The well has lost its oddly regained color from last month! But on the plus side, now it's no longer frozen over, either. It's just a regular old colorless well once more.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone, and happy holidays!

    • The Calendar has also been updated with the current weather! Please note that all of this upcoming snow will accumulate, upwards of about 3 feet by the end of the snowstorm.

    Event Log
    • A mingle log will go up tomorrow, November 8th at 9 PM EST, to provide a general introduction to the game. Due to the size of the app round, and requests from current players for more varied intro logs, we'll be trying something a bit different, but hopefully still not too overwhelming for the current round of newbies. So please be sure to read the following information carefully!

This will be a lowkey beginning, which will be connected to the event later this month, which will be a bit more intense.

    Cracks of Paint
    [ 11/8 - 11/12 ]

There are a two major points of note here re: the intro log -- what's happening with the newly arrived characters, and what's happening with the characters as a whole. So let's break it down!

Newly arrived characters will be arrived in the well, as always! They'll end up in the bottom of the well, absolutely frigid water coming up to about knee-deep. It's far larger on the inside than it would seem, but either way, the only way up is the top of the well, the opening there.

    Which, is, well. Frozen over.

    Yikes.

As of that day, it seems the well's opening will be continually freezing over, the sheet of ice slowly but surely growing thicker and thicker, completely sealing the well off from the outside world. And even more importantly, the ice cannot be broken from the inside or the outside of the well. Not even with magic, super strength, etc... You're stuck.

However, don't give up hope! A certain intrepid group of characters generously donated an amount of their own personal color to get you guys here, and that's going to be your saving grace.

So all new characters stuck in the well will have a burst of strength or magical energy, enough to crack open that ice, if they can get to the top of the well. Even the normals, without any power to speak of... well, suddenly they've got a punch that can break through solid magical ice. It'll still take some creativity to get out of there, probably, but at least it's possible, right? This extra strength can last anywhere from just that one moment to the entirety of this event's four days, before it fades away.

Everyone, for the remainder of the event will be finding that within their homes, there's suddenly an old, archaic mirror. It seems like a regular mirror? Everyone will have one, from the old to the new characters, and aside from being uncannily cold to the touch, it seems fine.

Except it follows you around. For the four days this event lasts, that mirror will follow you. You can leave it at home, and then turn around in someone else's home, and there it is, resting on a table, waiting for you. If you go tramping through the woods, there it'll be, leaning casually against a tree.

If you look into it, or someone else picks up your mirror, or looks into it over your shoulder with you, or even just catches a glimpse... what everyone involved will see is you, of course! But... the you that's the worst possible aspects of you. Those personality traits you try to keep hidden away from the world, emphasized ten times over. Those personality traits you'd be ashamed to have everyone known, overblown to a ridiculous extent --

That's what people will see in your mirror. And it's not just a visual, either. You can talk with that reflection, interact with them, reason with them (though they may not be all too open to reason).

Nothing's forcing you to pick up that mirror, of course. You can easily just leave it alone. Still... it's hard not to want to just take a peek, right...? There'll always be a lowkey urge to take one tiny look... and the more mirrors you look into, the more intensely you'll want to see what everyone's deeper, darker self looks like.

It's probably fine. The mirrors are their normal level of fragility, but if they are broken, it will have an impact on the second part of the event for your character, so please let us know here if your character breaks their mirror.

Hello everyone, and welcome to November's monthly mod post! Here are your color changes and news for the upcoming month! We've got a lot of things to touch on this month, so please bear with us.

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for November. November's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!

    • Characters removed via AC are:
      Sandalphon | [personal profile] heirworthy
Gaku Yaotome | [personal profile] recommending

    • Applications are currently open and can be found here. They are filled for new players, but current players looking to slot in a second character are still free to do so.

    • This month's events will be related -- the event introducing characters to the game will be milder, to allow new players and characters to adjust to the game, while the event later in the month will be a more intense continuation. We hope you enjoy it, and we'll give more details when apps are closed!

    • We've received some feedback about quests, and we'd like to try to work in some changes to make them a bit more engaging! Silly quests will always exist, but we'd also like to try to introduce deeper rewards and consequences for many of the quests in the game. However, since you guys are quest completing fiends (110 quests were reported last month!), in order to do so we'll have to set a limit on the number of times those quests can be turned in for a reward. They can be done as many times as you'd like, but they can only be turned in for a reward the number of times the limit section of each quest write-up states per character. So while the quests will look very similar to how they have been, the outcomes for successes and failures will be a bit weightier!

We'll try to have an even balance of quests that can be done limitless times for rewards and quests that have those limits, since we know everyone likes to be able to quest freely with each other. We'll try this out and see how it works, and how you guys like it; please don't hesitate to give us feedback as we fiddle with things and try to make them more enjoyable for everyone!
    Quests
    • Quests for November are now up!

    • For completing all of the quests last month, the characters have restored the color of ice. (Wait, ice is transparent, isn't it...? Well, at least it's no longer a weird, muggy colorless).

    • Additional color gains via the characters' color logs can be found here. Please take a look! Please also be sure to check out the color timeline to see what new colors everyone has added to the Town from their quest rewards last month.

    • Dave has chosen to restore the color of the well with his quest reward from last month. The well now has a regular, well-ish color scheme. It also will feel, to anyone with any sort of magical sense at all, to be extremely magical now. This will last for the duration of this month, before it turns back to normal. If you'd like to do anything with the well during this time, please shoot us a PM so we can set something up for you! This has also impacted one of the quests for this month.

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: Shockingly, no colors were lost via drops this month!

    • However! Because the effigy was lit on fire (and then launched out to sea), there's been a bit of a consequence! A random Setting color has disappeared. The players involved generated a random number, and so the color lost is the evening sky at 6 pm. Oops!

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

Hello everyone, and welcome to October's monthly mod post! Here are your color changes and news for the upcoming month!

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for October. October's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!

    • Applications will open again in November, from November 1st to November 7th. As before, there will be no reserves period.

    • With how heavy last month's event was, this month's event will be a little lighter -- but hopefully still very useful for further exploring your CR and the setting!

    • For fun, here's the current color breakdown in Awash: 24 Yellow, 35 Blue and 33 Red characters.
    Quests
    • Quests for October are now up!

    • New characters have had their text color restored in the color of their hexcode, and their house colors restored.

    • Because all of the quests were completed this past month, characters may notice that the color of snow has been restored. At least, they'll notice if it snows soon (oh no). Congratulations!

    • Because quest 27 was completed, the color of trees has been restored. Please note something very important: only the trees within the Town have had their colors restored. The trees of the woods outside of the Town have remained suspiciously colorless. This applies to the colors of fall leaves restored last month as well.

    • Because quest 27 was completed by an additional 10 characters, everyone has received an additional reward! Characters will find in their home one small item from home. This can be anything from food to medicine to a piece of clothing to something totally pointless -- just be reasonable, and keep in mind that it's one thing only!

    • Additionally, each character has received up to two pieces of winter clothing from their color log. Please choose two threads from your color log from the past month -- the mix of the colors of characters involved in the thread will be the color of the clothing item. What items they receive are entirely up to you: they can be anything from mittens to scarves to hoodies and anything in between, and don't have to be old timey at all!

Please note that these are not changing the color of every piece of that clothing in Awash, just giving each character a personally colored item or two!

    Color Losses:

    • From drops: turkey, and fire is now down to two colors -- this color has disappeared from your flames!

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

    Event Log
    • A mingle log will go up tomorrow, September 8th at 9 PM EST, to provide a general introduction to the game. Due to the size of the app round, the mingle will be closer to a standard intro log, with only small tweaks for current players.
    • New characters will be arriving via the well; they will need to be rescued or find their own way out before they can properly interact with the Town. Current characters will each get one of whatever item they helped restore color to here. Please note that that is only one of the item, in whatever way makes sense, for each item they were involved in. For instance, Dextera will get one (untainted) quilt, while Shouto will get one cobweb stretched across his door (sorry). Damian, on the other hand, will get a bale of straw, because a single piece of straw wouldn't make much sense. Just use your best judgment! These items will all be in their homes when they wake up on the day the new characters arrive.
    • After that, new characters will be welcome to create logs and posts as you please! Please be sure to read over the FAQ once more before you begin playing.

Hello everyone, and welcome to September's monthly mod post! Here are your color changes and news for the upcoming month!

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for September. September's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!

    • Applications are currently open and can be found here. All slots for new players have been filled at this time. Current players are welcome to apply for a second character at any point during this applications period.

    • Much like the previous app round, we will be having two smaller events this month -- the intro log immediately following the app round, and another small event at the end of the month that will be geared towards letting everyone interact!
    Quests
    • Quests for September are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post. Only quests for this month can be turned in for a reward.

    Color Changes/Rewards
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • Because all of the quests were completed this past month, characters may notice that the color of the sunrise has been restored. Every color involved in the sunrise will be present while the sun is rising -- though the sky goes back to being colorless after that. Congratulations!

    • Through their efforts and bonding this past month, characters have also restored some specific, special colors. However, you won't get to know what they are until you pick a thread from your color log to submit! Please choose one thread from your color log to submit here. Each player can submit one, and will get to see what that particular thread has restored! Please be aware the thread must be from the past month to be valid for this.

Hello, everyone! We just wanted to do a quick overview of the app process and the current app situation, so everyone is prepared and aware of what's to come!

    Announcements
    • Applications will open September 1st, 9 PM EST and they will close September 7th, 9 PM EST.

    • There is no reserves period, and a reserve is not required to apply.

    • There are currently 14 slots for new players. Second characters do not count towards this count; that is only for new players to the game. This number will be updated on the app page whenever it changes, and we'll make sure to have AC processed before apps open.

    • Current players are welcome to apply for a second character at any point during the application period, as there is no cap for them.

    • Due to the first come, first served nature of applications, proxy applications are allowed. The app must be written by the applicant, and they must confirm their application by commenting to it within 24 hours of it having been posted.

Thank you for your interest in the game, everyone, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask here or at the FAQ!

Hello everyone, and welcome to August's monthly mod post! Strap on in for some info for the upcoming month!

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for August. August's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!

    • Applications will reopen September 1st - September 7th. There are currently 12 slots open for new players. Current players are welcome to apply for a second character at any point during this applications period.

    • For reference, casts nearing cap are: DC Comics (5/6), Final Fantasy XV (4/6), Homestuck (4/6), Idolish7 (4/6), Kingdom Hearts (5/6), My Hero Academia (4/6), and Persona 5 (4/6).

    • As outlined in the FAQ, we aren't writing up new TDMs for each application round now that the number of application slots is small. However, we're always open to writing one up if players would like us to! We've had a few requests for a new TDM, so we'll be writing one up for August 18th, 9 PM EST. We hope that will give everyone plenty of time to thread together and bounce their characters off of some others!

    • The upcoming event will involve sign-ups this month, so please keep your eyes peeled for the OOC post later this month for more info!
    Announcements
    • Because the Quest Forum Post has been starting to load slowly for some people due to the number of comments on it, we've posted a clean Quest Forum Post here. The old one is linked on that post. This is only an OOC change. ICly, the Quest Forum Post is the same as ever.

    Quests
    • Quests for August are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post.

    • The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed. When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!

    • Please be aware that Quests still must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
    Color Changes/Rewards
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color/Game Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • All new characters have now had their text color restored on the forum, as well as the color of the outside of their home restored. Please be aware that it will be some shade of blue, red, or yellow depending on which district they are living in.

    • Additionally, the houses of Dave and John and Fushimi, Guren, Akira and Yata have now had the outside turn purple. The houses of Okuyasu and Jake and Izuku, Shouto, Sorey and Mikleo have turned green, and the house of Hunk and Keith has turned orange. Huh! These color changes are reflected on the housing document as well.

    • Because all of the quests were completed this past month, characters may notice that the color of the moon. For good this time, not just because of the werewolves! Not that we'd blame anyone for being wary of it.

    • Please also see this comment below to see what color changes have occurred thanks to your characters' Color Logs! This month, the theme was CR webs -- at least one of the three characters had a thread with one of the others on their Color Log for each group for the month of July! Please note that the food that's been restored has indeed been restored to that mixed up color of each of their hexcodes. So yes, milk is now purple. They taste like normal, though!

    • Additionally, each character will each get a small crate of the food they restored color to -- think about the size of an antique milk delivery box (because that's exactly what it's going to show up in). That means that there's suddenly going to be a lot of sage in the Town, yes.

    Color Losses:

    • From deaths: Pumpkins, Spam, Lemons, Shell Pasta (Please be aware that these foods lost color last month, but we are putting them here so that everyone's aware!)

    • From drops: Pink Peppercorns, Salmon, heads of hammers, crushed red pepper, regular pepper, garter snakes

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

    • This event will be themed after a harvest festival, and will involve a nice feast for all of the character to enjoy and partake in! That said, new characters will still be arriving via the well, so you might want to rescue all of them, first. There'll be a bit more information on it in the log itself tomorrow.

    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for July. July's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!

    • Applications are now open, and can be found here. You do not have to have a reserve to apply. They will remain open until July 7th, 9 PM EST. Current players are welcome to apply for a second character at any point during this applications period.

    • Because of the applications period, and because last month was rather busy, this month will be a bit more lowkey. There will be two mini-events this month, rather than one large event and an intro log. The first mini-event will be to welcome the new players into the game, but is geared towards allowing everyone to play in it; therefore, it will not be a standard intro log. The second will be towards the end of the month and a bit darker in content, but still not as large as a full-fledged event.

    • We've changed up the Color Timeline to hopefully make it easier to find what colors have changed and when; that can now be found here. Hopefully this makes it easier for everyone to keep track of the setting changes! If there are any colors that have been restored that are missing from it, please be sure to let us know!

    • It was brought up to us that not everyone wants to turn their characters to stone for the duration of their hiatus, which is perfectly fine! To streamline things and make things easier for everyone, leaving your characters on autopilot for the duration of your hiatus is entirely acceptable. We've updated the FAQ to reflect that, and also added an additional field to the hiatus form so that gamemates know what to expect when you're gone!

    • We'll be having our first monthly HMD on the 15th of this month, now that the game is starting to settle into a proper groove!
    Announcements
    • We know we've already told you guys on the event wrap-up post, but we wanted to leave it here as well! So here's an additional a quick note to please type your characters' text in black on the forum posts. You're more than welcome to use their color additionally, but please be sure that the message is there in black as well, as outlined on the FAQ! A few people have been having some readability issues, so we just wanted to remind everyone to keep that in mind. Thank you all very much!

    • We're aware that last month was a bit cram-packed with events and things; if you felt overwhelmed, you're not the only ones; we did too! We're still working on finding a good balance of events and quests for everyone to enjoy, and will keep trying to find the perfect balance. Thank you for your patience with us while we work out the kinks in the game, and thank you all for throwing yourselves into the quests and events so much; it really makes us happy to see!

    Quests
    • Quests for July are now up!

    • Because the characters have succeeded in hitting 20/20 characters having participated in the positivity quest, the color of the sun has been restored! It also seems warmer now, more light hitting the Town properly.

    • On top of that, because the characters hit an additional goal of 30/20 characters being positive, every character in Awash has received a small sun pendant. This pendant will keep them from fatal or serious harm once and only once -- or they can choose a name of their close CR, and it will protect that character from harm once instead. It's an all or nothing thing; they have to decide when they get it! As ever, please make sure to plot with your gamemates if you are going to use it for your CR instead of your own character. When it's used, the pendant will lose all of its color quite suddenly, regardless of if it was used for themselves or for another character.

    • As a reward for completing every single quest this past month, characters have restored the color of bronze. Things like door hinges, gears, doorknobs and anything else you can think of of that shade will have had its color restored!

    • As a reward for killing the bogeyman, each and every character will find that their sleep for the next two weeks or so is entirely restful; if they are prone to nightmares, they will have pleasant dreams instead, and will wake up feeling restful and restored.

    Color Losses:

    • Warsaw Nike Flowers

    • Dried Soybeans

    • For every character who died last month, a food has lost color; please respond here with the food color you'd like to remove from the game if your character died last month!

    • Because such a large number of characters died last month, there are no individual color changes this month from Color Logs; strange, that! Almost as if the effort and necessary color to restore those characters came from somewhere...

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

Hello everyone! We wanted to provide a quick wrap-up for the event, as well as a few quick announcements for everyone that we wanted to address before the monthly mod post next month.

    Event
    • The cure has been successfully created, with all of the characters banding together to figure out the necessary building blocks for said cure. With that in mind, it can be distributed to all of the characters, which will make their werewolf infection fade painlessly. It will be gone within 24 hours, and they will be feeling as good as new!
    • Any lingering feelings of paranoia, doubt and fear will likewise seamlessly fade away, leaving everyone feeling oddly serene, at least at first. Everything's back to normal now, and the wolves that started this whole mess? They've disappeared, sans the ones which have been killed, whose corpses will remain lingering around until people take care of them.
    • Please keep in mind that the werewolf cure can continue to be made at any point; the characters who were given knowledge of particular ingredients will always be able to go into the woods and find those ingredients if they try.

    Announcements
  • Applications will open on July 1st, at 9 PM EST and will close on July 7th, 9 PM EST. There will be no TDM posted, and there will be no reserve required. It will be first come, first served for new applicants. There are currently 15 open slots for new players.
  • Current players can submit applications for a second character at any point in time during the applications period.
  • As a quick reminder, please post tags in black in addition to the character's font color when using the forum! A couple of players have been having some readability issues, so as is outlined on the FAQ, if you would like to use your character's font color, please also have the tag in black.

  • Thank you everyone! As ever, questions can be asked here!

Hello everyone, and welcome to June's monthly mod post! Strap on in for some info for the upcoming month!

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for June. June's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!
    • Applications will open again July 1st, 9 PM EST, and there will be no reserves period. We will continue to accept applications until we have hit the game cap of 80 players -- currently, we have 13 slots for new players. They will remain open until July 7th, 9 PM EST. Current players are welcome to apply for a second character at any point during that applications period.
    • Punishments and rewards for the event will be given out via responses to those comments on the event post following this mod post! Please be aware that any of them that are "effects" will last for one week, but item rewards can be kept permanently. For items not in the character's home, but scattered elsewhere, they will receive a note telling them where the items are so they can fetch them. We hope you all enjoy them!
    Announcement
We wanted to put this in its own section, because we just wanted to make sure that everyone was on the same page with some game mechanics we've noticed have been getting mixed up!
    • For new characters, their text color has only gotten color restored as of today. Before today, their text was black.
    • All characters have color; their clothing, their features, their skin etc are all perfectly fine and intact!
    • All characters' belongings have color as well, including any pets they may have brought in with them.
    • For other things that have color, please see the Color Timeline.

As color is such a large and important aspect of the game, we just wanted to make sure that everyone was on the same page with the current setting, and we're sorry that it was unclear!
    Quests
    • Quests for June are now up!
    Color Changes
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color/Game Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • Through their bonds with other characters, characters have restored new colors this month! Characters who have at least one thread with another character from the month of May on their Color Log may choose one animal to restore color to. Please be aware that that animal will have their color restored in the shade of the colors of the characters involved in the thread combined together: red, blue, yellow, green, orange or purple, for example. Having purple sheep running around the woods may very well become a thing. It is perfectly fine for the same animal to be chosen by multiple players; there will simply be animals of those colors all running around the woods. Please respond here with those choices.
    • New characters have had their text colors and house colors restored to their proper colors. Characters who lost those colors in the shadow event have still not had them restored.
    • The following items on this list have had their colors restored via last month's quests; we just wanted to put them in a neat list for everyone.
    • Because every quest was completed last month, the Town has had a very special thing restored -- characters have restored the color of clouds. They have restored the color of clouds for all possible weather, so they will, at least, always be able to see those, even though the sky still does not generally have color.
    • As the wish quest was the most completed quest with a whopping 32 out of 84 of wishes reported granted, every character has received a small wish. This comes in the form of a small coin which they will find by their bed; they will know instinctively that if they toss the coin into the well and make a small wish, it will come true.

Small wishes can be anything from an item from home (of a reasonable size!) they're missing to good health for some of their CR (which will last for a certain period of time) to some sort of food or something along those lines. Feel free to be creative with it! If characters wish for something Too Large, however, they will get either something a little off from that, or nothing at all. Greed never pays in fairy tales, you know!

Please report those wishes here, so we can let you know if the wish was approved by the well or if the characters are receiving something different. There is no time limit on a character using the coin to make a wish.

    Color Losses:

    • Because Henry has returned home, and he was the character who restored the color of blood, something a little...strange has happened. The color of blood has naturally lost its restoration, but that applies also to the pets and animals the characters have brought from home...and the characters themselves. For a week following this mod post, the characters' blood in Awash will have no color; if they prick themselves (or are stabbed), they will see that their blood is the same, washed out lack of color as everything else. That's unsettling! Otherwise, they feel fine, however (unless they were actually stabbed). It will revert back to normal in a week, but that sure was strange, wasn't it...

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

Hello to all of our newcomers, and welcome to Awash! Thank you for your interest in the game, and we hope you have a good time here! This is just a quick mod post to make sure everyone's on the same page, and ready to play. Please be sure to give it a read, and don't hesitate to ask if anything is unclear!

    AC

    • New characters must submit half-AC.
    • Those requirements, as well as the AC post, can be found here.
    • Please be sure to also read the general AC guidelines, here! It is very important that you do, as we will not be granting AC exemptions due to the capped nature of the game.

    Future Application rounds

    • Future application rounds will not have reserves periods, and will simply be open to applications, first come, first served. We will announce when applications will be open at least two weeks in advance. Currently, the next projected application round is July 1st - July 7th, for both new and current players. If that changes, we will be certain to let everyone know!

OOCly, further information can be found about quests in general here and about this month's quests here.
    • A list of current restored colors can be found here; please be aware that no colors have been restored for new characters yet. That means that their text color will be black, and their homes, unless shared with a current character, will have no color.
    • Further information about future events can be found at this month's monthly mod post.

The OOC meet and greet can be found here. The intro log will go up tomorrow, May 15th, 9 PM EST, to provide a general introduction to the game. After that, new characters will be welcome to create logs and posts as you please! Please be sure to read over the FAQ once more before you begin playing.

As ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them on this post, or at the FAQ. Thank you, and welcome again to the game!

Hello everyone, and welcome to May’s monthly mod post! We hope everyone has had a good time settling into the game, and that we're all ready to welcome new players into it!

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. As of this post, AC is open for May. May’s AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!
    • On a quick side note, when submitting AC please avoid using commas. It messes with the form a bit, so try to leave them out! We'll update the AC form to reflect this requirement as well. Thank you for your understanding.
    • AC has also been slightly tweaked; after looking at the choices, we decided it would be more fair to change the "post and an additional thread of 10 comments" option to be "a post and an additional one to two threads maximum" option. Occasionally threads are dropped, or do not meet the minimum length, and we wanted to make AC easy to respond to! This change can be seen on all of the current AC pages.
    • Reserves are closed to new players, as they have been filled. Current players are welcome to continue to reserve their second characters if they would like, but will not require a reserve to apply.
    • Applications open May 7th, 9 PM EST. They will remain open until May 14th, 9 PM EST.
    • The intro log will go up May 15th, 9 PM EST. There will also be a smaller, more lowkey event at the end of the month to help settle in the new characters.

    Quests

    • Quests for May are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post.
    • The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed. If the thread continues on, but is simply small talk or characters doing other things, you’re welcome to turn in the thread as soon as the quest is done.
    • Please be aware that Quests still must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!

    Color Changes

This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color/Game Timeline):

    Color Gains:

    • Please see this comment to see what changes have occurred based off of an impactful thread on your Color Log. These changes are based off of the general blended color of the two (or more) characters involved in the thread.
    • Because every quest was completed last month, the Town has had a very special thing restored -- characters will now be able to see the stars at night. The sky itself is now black at night, and the stars are bright and twinkly and perfectly star-like. As soon as the sky brightens for daytime, it goes back to being bleak and colorless.
    • As the storyteller quest was successfully completed, all of the books in the Town have now had their writing restored, as the color Black typeset has been restored. This means that characters are also able to write on paper in the Town without being unable to see the words they're writing, even if using only supplies from the Town. The books in the libraries and the houses are all.......... fairy tales. Of course they are. Any fairy tale you can imagine from any culture can probably be found in those books somewhere.

    Color Losses:

    • Tomatoes no longer have color or taste.
    • Dave and Caingorm’s houses no longer have color.
    • Izuku’s text color is now absent, and his text will appear black again.
    • The following foods have additionally lost their flavor and color: red peppers, blue cotton candy, bananas, pineapples.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

Hello everyone! There have been some concerns brought to us in regards to our reasoning for not advertising on EMP, so we wanted to quickly clear those up and also use this space to make sure that everyone is on the same page for the upcoming app round!

First off, we're very sorry if anyone was made to feel unwelcome due to that decision; we're very excited for the upcoming app round and whatever characters are brought in! We wanted to assure everyone of that first and foremost. Our reasoning for not posting a proper EMP ad is simply that, with the cap as small as it is, it seems fairest to limit advertising to word of mouth and plurk. We will be posting on plurk when the TDM is up and reserves are open.

With that all said, we'd also like to take this opportunity to detail the upcoming app round, since a few things have slipped through the cracks a bit (sorry about any confusion stemming from that)!

    • First off, the TDM will be posted the weekend before reserves open: April 28th, 9 PM EST. That will hopefully give everyone some time to tag around and play with everyone before reserves open. It has also been added to the calendar.

    • Reserves open May 1st, 9 PM EST. We currently don't have an exact number of slots that will be available; as of right now, there are 29 available slots for new players. Please keep in mind the cast cap of 6 and the player cap of 80 when reserving. We will process AC as quickly as possible so that we can update the reserves page with the number of available slots before reserves open!

    • Applications open May 7th, 9 PM EST. You must have a reserve to apply if you are a new player. Reserves expire May 12th, 9 PM EST, at which point applications will be open to everyone until the game cap of 80 players has been met.

    • For second characters: second characters do not count towards either the reserve or app cap. You do not have to have a reserve to apply for a second character, but you are welcome to if you would like to reserve your character.

    • If you are not ready to apply for a second character yet, don't panic! We will be opening up applications to current players once every other month for a week for players to apply for a second character if they should choose to do so. The only reason for having them open for a set week is to make it easier on us to keep track of when we need to process applications! However, you must have passed AC at least once with your current character to apply for a second. There will be no TDM and no reserves period for those app rounds.

    • For future app rounds, as it states on the FAQ: there will not be TDMs, as applications will open without reserves. When 5 slots have opened up in the game, we will give 2 weeks' notice, and then open applications to everyone. Proxy applications will be allowed in an attempt to be as fair as possible, but it will remain first come, first served.

We appreciate your patience with us, and if there are any concerns, please feel free to bring them to us! We want the upcoming application rounds to be as easy for everyone to handle as is possible, and we're grateful for everyone's interest in the game.

The event log for tonight will be up at 9 PM EST; we just wanted to address these concerns as quickly as possible. Thank you!

Hello everyone, and welcome to April’s monthly mod post! We’ve got a couple of topics to cover, so strap in and let’s get to it!

    Mechanics
    • First off, AC has completed and has been processed. As of this post, AC is open for April. April’s AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!

    • Reserves for next round will open on May 1st, at 9 PM EST. Applications will open May 7th, at 9 PM EST. Anyone who has passed AC will be able to apply for a second character in this upcoming application round, if they are interested!

    • As the previous event has come to a close, all of the furniture has gone back to being just regular old furniture. The Town does look a lot better, though, so good work, guys! As for the reward, well... just go ahead and mosey on down to the color changes below!

    Quests

As of this mod post, quests are now properly open to be tackled by any characters who wish to do so! So we’d like to give a quick breakdown on how quests work. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post, and they have also been OOCly posted to this post. Characters are welcome to respond ICly, either to discuss, look for companions to tackle a quest, etc. OOCly, the comments below are for hashing out plans, finding people to play with, and the like. Feel free to use them at will!

There is a Quest Reporting comment below as well. Please respond to that comment if your characters have taken on a quest, with the outcome of said quest (ie whether they succeed or fail) and a link to the completed thread. There’s no time limit on reporting a quest; it can be done at any point in April, it just has to be done before the end of the month, so we can tally up color changes for the next month! Please only report your quest thread when the quest itself has been threaded out.

Quests have a Requirements section. This requirements section is the base requirement for a quest to succeed. For example, if a quest requires a yellow character to participate, then any party with at least one yellow character, regardless of the make-up of the rest of the party, has the chance of succeeding (assuming they do the rest of the quest right!). Likewise, a party of only blues will be doomed to failure even if they complete the quest, because the requirements will not have been satisfied.

The quests have a breakdown of what the quest is asking for OOCly in each quest comment, and what will be required to succeed; we will leave it up to you whether your characters succeed or fail. Please feel free to be creative, and have fun with it!

And please don't be afraid to have your characters fail, either; failing a quest will still have color outcomes, and will change the quests given the following month. If your characters would mess up a quest, go for it! It'll still have a big impact on the game. Characters can take on as many quests as you have the time to thread out, and quests can be completed by multiple different groups of characters. Rewards will be granted upon quest completion!

    Color Changes

This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color/Game Timeline):
    • All present characters’ fonts are now the color of their hexadecimal handle. Sorry about...all of the really bright colors on the forum all of a sudden. As a reminder, please use black in addition to your characters’ texts if you are going to use their color for texts, for ease of reading.

    • However, #FFFFFF’s quest posts remain black, and the forum itself is otherwise as bleak and grey as ever.

    • Due to their hard work during the event, the houses characters are living in have had their colors restored fully -- and only those houses. However, things brought into the houses will remain colorless, furniture remains colorless, etc. It is only the houses themselves that have had color restored -- the flooring, the walls, the windows, the outside of the house, etc. Ruga houses are all red brick, Flavo houses and huts are all a shade of yellow, and Bluo houses, boathouses included, are all blue.

    • Finally, some foods have been restored… with a catch. Please respond below at this comment to pick a food item that has been restored. The food item must be somewhat similar to your character’s color, and must be a single item -- for example, a red character can choose to have apples be restored to color. This is an OOC choice, so you are only limited by color; if you really want spaghetti sauce to be restored, even though there’s basically none in the Town, you’re welcome to it. These foods will be restored color-wise and taste-wise; they’ll be delicious and far more edible again!

We know that was a lot, so thank you for reading and bearing with us as we get the game mechanics rolling! If there are any questions, please ask them here, to try to keep this post from becoming too cluttered.

    Thank you, everyone!

Hello everyone, and welcome to Awash! Thank you for your interest in the game, and we hope you have a good time here!

We wanted to extend you all a warm welcome, and also go over a few things to make sure that we’re all on the same page and ready to play. So please be sure to read this post, and then fling yourself on over to the OOC Meet and Greet, if you haven’t already!

    AC

    • We will be processing AC this month. Because only half the month is left, we will be requiring half-AC.
    • Those requirements, as well as the AC post, can be found here.
    • Please be sure to also read the general AC guidelines, here! It is very important that you do, as we will not be granting AC exemptions due to the capped nature of the game.

    Second characters

    • Apping a second character will be possible as soon as you have passed AC with one character. Passing half AC this month will count, and will make you eligible for apping a second.
    • You will have to wait for applications to open to apply for a second character until the game has hit cap. When the game has hit its player cap, there will be application windows once every other month for second characters.
    • Second characters will not count towards the reserves/app cap; you can reserve your second character at will, and it will not take a spot from incoming players -- it will simply assure that you can reserve that character.
    • Please remember that two characters are the max we will be allowing for this game as of now!

    Applications/Reserves

    • First and foremost, we are sorry about the intense rush for reserves; we weren’t expecting the rush to be quite so bad. Unfortunately, we cannot think of a better system as of now, and so apps will continue to follow this current system -- we will allow proxy reserves, and will still be following a first come, first served process.
    • Starting this next round, reserves will be capped at 40 reserves OR until we hit gamecap. If there is not a large turnover from this round, there may be fewer reserves slots, for instance. Currently, there are 20 slots for new players next round.
    • The next app round will be May 7th, with reserves opening May 1st.

    Gameplay Mechanics
    • Character housing, now that the application round is over, can be found here! This is where characters can find their laptops, though they are by no means required to stay there; they can move at will, and their laptop will function in whatever new home they pick.
    • The spreadsheet is editable, so please feel free to move your characters around!
    • Many people will likely notice that the so-called “sticky forum post” is not up on the IC network comm yet -- it isn’t up ICly yet either! Characters will be able to find it when the first proper event occurs later this month. However, characters are welcome to post to the forum even so with their own posts!
    • The game’s weather can be found here at the Calendar.

Onto more fun announcements! As we stated above, the OOC meet and greet can be found here. The intro log will go up tomorrow, March 15th, 9 PM EST, to provide a general introduction to the game. After that, you will all be welcome to create your own logs and posts as you please! Please be sure to read over the FAQ once more before you begin playing.

Following the intro log, there will be an event, as can be seen from the calendar. Where the intro log is meant to allow people to enter the game and get situated, the event will be a more proper representation of what can be expected from in-game events, which will range from silly and nonsensical to outright creepy and uncanny.

As ever, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them on this post, or at the FAQ. Thank you, and welcome again to the game!

    Hello everyone!

First, we need to offer an apology -- multiple concerns were brought forward to us today regarding a situation where two players PM'd a single player about their reserve. After thinking it through further, and considering the concerns brought to us, we have to apologize for not immediately acting more strictly.

Harassment is a very serious problem that won't be tolerated, especially with the situation involving reserves and how quickly the reserves filled. We don't want people to believe that it's acceptable behavior to ever try to get someone else to rescind their reserve.

With that said, this is how we have decided to handle the situation. The players in question have had their reserves automatically revoked. Those slots will be offered to the next players in line who missed the cut-off. We hope that by doing this, we will be able to prevent players from attempting to harass others in the future into removing their reserves.

The players in question, should they choose to attempt to app in the future, will also have a preemptive strike against them for this behavior; any future behavior along these lines will be considered grounds for immediate banning from the game.

Again, we apologize for the delay on our response -- but thank you to everyone who brought their concerns to us. We truly do want to make a game atmosphere that feels welcoming to everyone, and will do our best to make sure that that remains the case.

We know this is a bit of a sour note to start the game on, but thank you all for your interest and enthusiasm in the game, and we hope that together we can make a better atmosphere for the game's beginning. We appreciate your understanding. Any further concerns can be directed to the feedback post, or to this post.
