Mod Post. 9/3/18
Hello everyone, and welcome to September's monthly mod post! Here are your color changes and news for the upcoming month!
Mechanics
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!
Mechanics
Quests
- First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for September. September's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!
- Applications are currently open and can be found here. All slots for new players have been filled at this time. Current players are welcome to apply for a second character at any point during this applications period.
- Much like the previous app round, we will be having two smaller events this month -- the intro log immediately following the app round, and another small event at the end of the month that will be geared towards letting everyone interact!
Color Changes/Rewards
- Quests for September are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post. Only quests for this month can be turned in for a reward.
- The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed. When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!
- Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):
Color Gains:
- Because all of the quests were completed this past month, characters may notice that the color of the sunrise has been restored. Every color involved in the sunrise will be present while the sun is rising -- though the sky goes back to being colorless after that. Congratulations!
- Through their efforts and bonding this past month, characters have also restored some specific, special colors. However, you won't get to know what they are until you pick a thread from your color log to submit! Please choose one thread from your color log to submit here. Each player can submit one, and will get to see what that particular thread has restored! Please be aware the thread must be from the past month to be valid for this.
Color Losses:
- From drops: butternut squash
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

hello mods, if Guren wanted to, is there any way he could collect venom from the mutant bees? By making them sting into something where he collects it, or something like that. If he can, would it just be normal venom, or can he get some of that special jrpg bee venom like paralysis venom? Specifically that's what he's looking for, poison and paralysis.

QUEST 24
Requirements: 1 red.
It sounds easy at first glance. Fetch some honey. Honey doesn't have color, but it'll probably be worth it, if it ever does get color. But if you head into the woods to find some colorless beehives, you'll soon realize -- the bees are just as mutated as the rest of the animals and creatures in the forest. They might have magical JRPG skills, or five times the stingers, or be the size of a cow. You never know! Seems like this won't be as easy as it first looked.
Ways to succeed: Drag a red along, and retrieve at least a cup of honey. That's it! Just bring the honey back, and you'll be a winner.
Ways to fail: If you don't retrieve at least a cup of honey, you're up a creek! That said, that's about the only way to fail. Even if you kill all the bees (don't you know bees are important!), you'll still succeed.

QUEST 25
Requirements: Any two colors.
Well, that's not very nice. Wonder how that got here!
Either way, it's just what it says on the tin. If you ruin someone's day, sincerely and completely, you'll get a quest reward. You have to make them miserable. It has to be something that will stick with them the entire day, not just insulting them for the moment! You know the feeling -- that sickening drop in your stomach that just won't leave you alone, all day long...
Well, inflict that on someone else for your reward!
As an important note, some characters are certainly easier to destroy than others, which is why this reward will scale; the harder it is to ruin a character's day, the greater the reward will be. Go ruin the day of some of those stoic or cheerful characters who never seem bothered by anything! It'll be fun.
Ways to succeed: As outlined above, you have to really, really ruin someone's day to make this work. Granted, that's different per character, so we'll mostly leave it up to the players to decide when that's been accomplished; with that in mind, please be sure to communicate with your fellow players on this one!
Ways to fail: Naturally, if you don't absolutely wreck their day, it's a failure, even if you make them miserable for a moment. Go all out!

QUEST 26
Requirements: 1 blue.
This seems a bit like the rest of the fight-y quests that everyone is sent on, and it's close -- if you defeat the fairies, you'll succeed! That said, fairies are... jerks. They're creepy creatures, black and white with translucent wings, and rather than fighting outright, they will use every single trick in the book to try to fight back.
They'll use magic of all sorts -- status spells, elemental spells, berserk and burns and paralysis and anything you can think of. That's really all they've got up their sleeves, at least; they're not physically strong, and it would honestly be very easy to kill them if you can manage to catch them.
They're very quick and agile, and can briefly go invisible, but not while using magic...so if you can fight through everything they're flinging at you, you can probably get close enough to swat them. Please note that they do have a strong resistance to magic of all types; it'll work eventually, but physical attacks are definitely the way to go here.
Also, they hang out in packs.
Ways to succeed: The quest states that you only have to "defeat" the fairies; you don't have to kill them, you just have to knock out or defeat or exhaust the fairies that you encounter to succeed! Of course, killing them works too.
Ways to fail: Try not to end up totally incapacitated in the middle of the woods -- you don't know what else is out there.

QUEST 27
Requirements: 20 of any color.
This one seems pretty straightforward, and it is. For once, one of these is exactly what it says -- create three new bonds with people of any color, and you'll have contributed to the quest! Twenty different characters will have to meet someone new in order to restore the trees, but it's fine if there's overlap in the characters they're meeting! The only important thing is that there are twenty different characters reporting it.
"Meeting someone new" and "creating a new bond" are both vague and loose as well; for the purposes of this quest, even having an encounter with someone totally new will work!
Ways to succeed: Meet three new people. They have to be people you haven't spoken to before, even in passing. Color and who they are otherwise doesn't matter! If twenty people report this quest, we might have some more color in the Town.
Ways to fail: If you've already met the other person, even if briefly, they won't count for the purposes of this quest! It has to be someone completely new. Otherwise, it doesn't matter if they talk about the weather or exchange names or what. So long as they interact, it counts!
