Mod Post. 10/3/18
Hello everyone, and welcome to October's monthly mod post! Here are your color changes and news for the upcoming month!
Mechanics
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!
Mechanics
Quests
- First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for October. October's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!
- Applications will open again in November, from November 1st to November 7th. As before, there will be no reserves period.
- With how heavy last month's event was, this month's event will be a little lighter -- but hopefully still very useful for further exploring your CR and the setting!
- For fun, here's the current color breakdown in Awash: 24 Yellow, 35 Blue and 33 Red characters.
Color Changes/Rewards
- Quests for October are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post. Only quests for this month can be turned in for a reward.
- The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed. When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!
- Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):
Color Gains:
- New characters have had their text color restored in the color of their hexcode, and their house colors restored.
- Because all of the quests were completed this past month, characters may notice that the color of snow has been restored. At least, they'll notice if it snows soon (oh no). Congratulations!
- Because quest 27 was completed, the color of trees has been restored. Please note something very important: only the trees within the Town have had their colors restored. The trees of the woods outside of the Town have remained suspiciously colorless. This applies to the colors of fall leaves restored last month as well.
- Because quest 27 was completed by an additional 10 characters, everyone has received an additional reward! Characters will find in their home one small item from home. This can be anything from food to medicine to a piece of clothing to something totally pointless -- just be reasonable, and keep in mind that it's one thing only!
- Additionally, each character has received up to two pieces of winter clothing from their color log. Please choose two threads from your color log from the past month -- the mix of the colors of characters involved in the thread will be the color of the clothing item. What items they receive are entirely up to you: they can be anything from mittens to scarves to hoodies and anything in between, and don't have to be old timey at all!
Please note that these are not changing the color of every piece of that clothing in Awash, just giving each character a personally colored item or two!
Color Losses:
- From drops: turkey, and fire is now down to two colors -- this color has disappeared from your flames!
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

1) What would Shiho see if she were to touch a skeleton using psychometry specifically in regards to history or where they’re from, etc?
2) Is there any information she can get from the trees that have had their colours restored? (For instance memories of the people that were here from the past, etc.)
3) If someone were to throw a flower crown into the well would this also work? (Since Shiho kept all hers, dried them out and actually does cherish them a lot.) Also if someone makes a sacrifice and Shiho had her hand on the well, would she be able to see anything happening with her psychometry?

QUEST 28
Requirements: 1 yellow.
This one's pretty straightforward! Carve a pumpkin with a friend, make it festive, and put it out in front of your house. There are candles to use as well, with our weirdly colored flames. Nice! Now you're ready for the season!
Ways to succeed: Carve a pumpkin! A yellow has to be involved in the task to qualify the quest for a reward, but honestly, go nuts and carve a bunch of pumpkins anyway.
Ways to fail: So long as you've got a yellow involved, you'll probably be okay with this one.

QUEST 29
Requirements: 2 of any color.
So yeah. The skeleton army. Did you know there's one of those in the woods? Well, if you didn't, now you know.
Please note that this is the first time the monsters from the woods will be entering the Town. Starting from today, 10/3, walking skeletons with clubs or rusted swords and spears will be entering the Town at their own leisurely pace. It's not a constant assault -- it's more like a couple of skeletons or groups of them a day.
But also they're... really not remotely threatening. If you're very slow, they might manage to stab you. Otherwise? They move slowly and jerkily, their bones are rigid and fragile, and all you really have to do is smack them around to get them to crumble.
Magic works fine, purifying works fine -- anything works, really, to take them out. You only have to take out one to get a prize!
Ways to succeed: Take out a skeleton! Knock his head clean off. Wipe that smug grin off his face! Etc, etc, etc. It'll be great. The requirement for 2 colors is mostly for threading purposes; work together and thread out a skeleton fight, and you're good to go!
Ways to fail: If you somehow let the skeleton kill you, you've definitely not fended off the skeleton army.

QUEST 30
Requirements: 1 red.
Well, it's not exactly classic trick-or-treating, but either way, all you have to do is go obtain some sort of treat from someone! Easy...!
That said? If they don't have a treat for you at the time of asking, you do have to pull some sort of trick on them. Those are the rules. "Tricks" can be any sort of prank imaginable, while "treats" just have to be some sort of food your character would enjoy!
Ways to pass: A red has to be involved, though they can be giving the treat or receiving the request for the treat. So long as either a treat is given when requested, or in the absence of that, a trick is pulled on the poor sap who didn't have any food handy, you'll be good to go!
Ways to fail: Please note that if a treat is requested and there are no treats, and the requester does not pull a trick on the person, it's an automatic failure for this quest.

QUEST 31
Requirements: Any 2 colors.
This is a bit of an odd one, isn't it...? But just as it sounds, the quest is demanding that you take someone with you, go to the well, and sacrifice something precious to you to the well. That can mean an item of yours, or something less tangible -- a memory, for instance, or a bond with someone that you will lose, making you as good as strangers from your end. Please feel free to be creative, and if you're not sure, you're welcome to ask!
Things sacrificed to the well will be gone permanently. Your belongings will disappear. The memory will be gone for good. Be careful!
Ways to succeed: Grab a witness of any color, go to the well, and sacrifice something that is absolutely precious to you to the well. Dump those precious belongings in there. Give up a precious memory. Go ahead! It'll be fun!
Ways to fail: Look, if you dump trash into the well, it's not going to count and also, nobody will have a good time then. Also, you have to bring someone along -- doing this without a witness will not count!
