Mod Post. 4/3/19
Hello everyone, and welcome to April's monthly mod post! Please be sure to read all of this post -- we've got a few different things in store for this month
Mechanics
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!
Mechanics
Plot
- First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for April. April's AC Post can be found here.
- Characters removed via AC this month:
- merlin (avalonesome)
katsuki bakugo (bombingking)
hotarumaru (lampyris)
Quests
- The trees are looming way, way too close lately, aren't they? No matter how the characters try to push them back and hack them down, they just reappear by the next morning. They haven't encroached on the Town properly yet, but they are right up on the edge of it, colorless and silent and ominous.
If characters spend too much time around the woods this month, including if they go into the woods for forest scenarios, they may find that things are much more dangerous than usual. Please keep that in mind! For those who have already sent in requests for forest scenarios, you will be given the option of backdating the scenario or encountering a more dangerous than usual one.
Characters may suddenly collapse near the woods after spending too much time around the trees, and when they wake up, they will remember nothing but an ominous feeling of being watched. They'll be sick for a few days after that, so be careful, everyone!
For now, there are no consequences to hacking down the trees. For now.
Color Changes/Rewards
- Quests for April are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post. Only quests for this month can be turned in for a reward.
- The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed. When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!
- Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):
Color Gains:
- New characters have now had their text color restored on the forum, as well as the color of their houses that they're living in.
- For completing all of the quests last month, characters have restored the color of the harbor piers.
- If your character has a color log thread from the month of March, please go here to submit a thread! After that, the mods will let you know what color that thread has restored.
Color Losses:
- From drops: Wheat, green paint, sparrows
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

Re: QUESTIONS
Memories are given as an example, but how exactly would a character go about doing that? Is that for them to figure out?
And if I'm understanding this right, it would basically mean they LOSE that memory forever, right? And the other person can't tell them about it or "give it back" (however that would work) or the quest fails?
edit: also, for quest 55, any two colors can include two of the same color, right?

Re: QUESTIONS
Pyra and Damian were using the wood from those trees that are moving in on the town to redo the floor and pulpit. Are there any consequences to using the wood from those ominous trees for repairs on the church?

QUEST 52
Requirements: 1 blue.
This can be verbal or physical -- what matters is that the fight has to be very much sincere. You can't stage it -- it has to legitimately be something that gets a rise out of both of you, something that can legitimately be considered a fight. And if words aren't enough, well... you can always exchange punches instead.
Ways to succeed: It has to be someone you're relatively close with, though it doesn't have to be with a best friend or anything -- just someone you're fond enough of that a fight will be meaningful.
Ways to fail: Staging a fight, not putting your all into it, or picking a fight with a stranger are all ways to fail this one!
Limit: 2 per character

QUEST 53
Requirements: 1 red.
This one's permanent, so be careful. Give someone something that means a great deal to you. Note that this doesn't have to be a physical thing -- you can give someone your deep love of cats, or a memory of something important. But note that it has to be something precious to you, not something that only has a little meaning. And again, it's definitely, 100% permanent -- you can't get whatever you give back, or you'll fail the quest.
Ways to succeed: Much like what it says on the tin -- give someone something precious to you, and don't take it back!
Ways to fail: If you take back what you gave, you'll fail, even if it's outside of the quest period. If it's not something totally precious to you, you'll fail then too. Be sincere!
Limit: 1 per character

QUEST 54
Requirements: 1 yellow.
Whether this means dropping someone off a cliff and catching them, nearly slicing their head off or just making someone think they're going to die, it's time to give someone the ultimate thrill -- and give them that near death experience. What constitutes that experience might be different from character to character, but it has to be something that really, truly, completely makes them think they're about to die.
You might not want to warn them about this quest beforehand.
Ways to succeed: Nearly, but not entirely, killing someone will net you a win here, but only if they really think they're about to die!
Ways to fail: Sorry, but if you really do kill them, it's not going to count. It's a near death experience, not a death experience.
Limit: 3 per character

QUEST 55
Requirements: Any two colors.
No matter what way you decide to go about it, it's time to make someone so, so sad that they can't help but cry. It does have to be sadness that's causing the emotion this time; it can't be tears of laughter or any other emotion.
Just make someone very, very sad in whatever way it takes. You know you want to.
Ways to succeed: So long as at least one tear of sadness is shed, you've done it Congrats, you monster!
Ways to fail: Tears of any other type but sadness won't count, and fake crocodile tears won't either. These have to be legit!
Limit: Unlimited
