Mod Post. 11/3/18
Hello everyone, and welcome to November's monthly mod post! Here are your color changes and news for the upcoming month! We've got a lot of things to touch on this month, so please bear with us.

Quests
- First off, AC has completed and has been processed. AC is now open for November. November's AC Post can be found here. Thank you to everyone who completed AC!
- Characters removed via AC are:
- Sandalphon |
heirworthy
Gaku Yaotome |recommending
- Applications are currently open and can be found here. They are filled for new players, but current players looking to slot in a second character are still free to do so.
- This month's events will be related -- the event introducing characters to the game will be milder, to allow new players and characters to adjust to the game, while the event later in the month will be a more intense continuation. We hope you enjoy it, and we'll give more details when apps are closed!
- We've received some feedback about quests, and we'd like to try to work in some changes to make them a bit more engaging! Silly quests will always exist, but we'd also like to try to introduce deeper rewards and consequences for many of the quests in the game. However, since you guys are quest completing fiends (110 quests were reported last month!), in order to do so we'll have to set a limit on the number of times those quests can be turned in for a reward. They can be done as many times as you'd like, but they can only be turned in for a reward the number of times the limit section of each quest write-up states per character. So while the quests will look very similar to how they have been, the outcomes for successes and failures will be a bit weightier!
We'll try to have an even balance of quests that can be done limitless times for rewards and quests that have those limits, since we know everyone likes to be able to quest freely with each other. We'll try this out and see how it works, and how you guys like it; please don't hesitate to give us feedback as we fiddle with things and try to make them more enjoyable for everyone!
Color Changes/Rewards
- Quests for November are now up! The OOC breakdown of said quests can be found below, as with last month. All quests have been posted ICly to the Quest Forum Post. Only quests for this month can be turned in for a reward.
- The Quest Reporting comment can be found here. As ever, please respond to that comment once the quest itself has been completed. When reporting the quest, please state what quest it is in the subject line; we've realized that that helps us a lot with keeping track over the past few months!
- Please be aware that Quests must be reported by the end of the month; this is because we use what quests are completed to keep track of what colors are restored for the next month!
This month’s color changes are as follows (color changes can be tracked at the Color Timeline):
Color Gains:
- For completing all of the quests last month, the characters have restored the color of ice. (Wait, ice is transparent, isn't it...? Well, at least it's no longer a weird, muggy colorless).
- Additional color gains via the characters' color logs can be found here. Please take a look! Please also be sure to check out the color timeline to see what new colors everyone has added to the Town from their quest rewards last month.
- Dave has chosen to restore the color of the well with his quest reward from last month. The well now has a regular, well-ish color scheme. It also will feel, to anyone with any sort of magical sense at all, to be extremely magical now. This will last for the duration of this month, before it turns back to normal. If you'd like to do anything with the well during this time, please shoot us a PM so we can set something up for you! This has also impacted one of the quests for this month.
Color Losses:
- From drops: Shockingly, no colors were lost via drops this month!
- However! Because the effigy was lit on fire (and then launched out to sea), there's been a bit of a consequence! A random Setting color has disappeared. The players involved generated a random number, and so the color lost is the evening sky at 6 pm. Oops!
If there are any questions, please ask them here, so that we don’t miss any. Thank you, everyone!

(Admittedly what I have in mind is "could I theoretically inflict hanahaki on someone because of this" but you know.)

Would it be possible to give someone color the same way? And if so, would that still count as the other character "taking" color for the quest?

Re: QUESTIONS
Let's say for a quest with a two reward limit:
Anna completes the quest with Hannah and Jenna and submits. Does this mean Hannah and Jenna can only claim one more reward with another person? Or do they get two more separate turn ins of their own?

1. For Quest 32, if Shiho used the ring she got from here, would that actually be able to heal her close CR from their sickness?
2. Using psychometry, is there anything Shiho can see in terms of history (would she be able to see who built the well, why it's there, layout) etc for the following now that they've got colour back?
- well
- town hall
- church
- library
3. Also if Shiho tries to read the answer from the sphinx using psychometry, would that be considered "solving" the riddle?

To be more specific, if character A were growing flowers before the quest was given, decided to take on the quest, and chose to offer character B one of those flowers as their gift (assuming, of course, that those flowers were something that A and/or B really cared about), would that be enough to be considered a success? Or does the gift have to be something that's created fresh, with the full intent of being used for the quest?

QUEST 32
Requirements: Any Colors.
It is the month of giving thanks, after all! Give your thanks to your close CR, and demonstrate to them how much they mean to you.
... If only it was that easy. In actuality, there's a bit of a twist to this quest. You see, demonstrating your gratitude can be quite simple, though it'll vary from person to person. It has to be something sincere, and something that takes an earnest effort. It could be going and fetching something from the woods for them, or making them a proper meal, or doing something very generous and kind and time consuming for them. It's flexible -- it just has to be something they'll really, really feel appreciated by receiving, and a tangible gift (so words aren't going to cut it for this quest!).
But.
There's a twist.
You see, as soon as a character decides to take on this quest... their close CR that they're intending to show thanks to? They're going to start to feel very, very ill. And the longer it takes your character to deliver that thanks (whether it's making something, finding something...etc), the more ill they'll get.
Better work fast!
Ways to succeed: Create a gift of some sort for your very precious people to show them your thanks! You'd...better finish it before they get too sick to appreciate it. Surprise!
Ways to fail: The usual warnings apply: make sure it's very close CR that you're delivering a gift to. Make sure it's a proper "gift" of some sort. But don't worry, there's no failure for leaving your CR sick as a dog while you try to perfect that gift for them.
Limit: 4 rewards

QUEST 33
Requirements: 1 red.
You know the sphinx, right? Who doesn't. Face of a human, body of a lion, wings of a bird -- it's pretty distinct! It's also not going to make itself too easy to track down; you'll have to either bring someone who is very good at telling the difference between animal prints, someone with a good sense of smell, etc etc OR... just wander the woods for hours and hours looking for it. Live your best life.
Please note that this isn't a fighting quest! If you do manage to find the sphinx, as per proper sphinx form, it will give you a riddle to solve (you are welcome to come up with your own riddles, or you can message us and we'll give you a riddle if you'd like for it to be a surprise). Better bring someone pretty knowledgable for this one!
Ways to succeed: Track down the sphinx, solve the riddle. That's the only way to win this one!
Ways to fail: Please note that attacking the sphinx is an automatic failure; it will flee immediately upon any sort of aggression. Getting the riddle wrong means the quest is failed and the sphinx will try to eat you. Because that's what sphinxes do. It can technically be killed, but nobody will be happy if that happens. (Please tell us if that happens.)
Limit None

QUEST 34
Requirements: 1 blue.
It's cold outside! No better way to fend off the cold by sharing body heat, right? It's fine, you don't have to like each other -- just get all up close and snug beneath that blanket and spend some quality time together anyway! It's very easy, after all.
Ways to succeed: Share a blanket with someone for a reasonable period of time. It has to be just one blanket -- you gotta cozy up real close for this quest to be done right.
Ways to fail: Good luck failing this one, really.
Limit: None

QUEST 35
Requirements: Any Two Colors.
... Did you know you could do that? Have you ever tried?
Well, that's something you can do -- but this month only. Maybe it has something to do with the well regaining color...? You can reach out to someone, grasp their hand, and if you focus on it really, really hard -- if you try as hard as you possibly can to take what's theirs, to take the colors that make them up into a whole person... then you can.
Be careful. You don't want to take too much, and it's really not an easy skill to control at all.
Side effects to color loss: loss of strong emotion, more with each and every bit of color lost. If all color is taken from someone, they will remain a shambling, zombie-like, apathetic person for up to a week. It will take at least two days to recover at the quickest, but will be longer for more color loss.
Side effects to taking someone's color: more vigor, more strength, a zest for life and an intense feeling of invincibility (note, you're not actually invincible).
Ways to succeed: Take someone's color. Even a little will do. But you have to have the intent to do so; this one won't happen by accident. And it is extremely hard to control. Unless you're the sort of person who has incredible self-control, the chances are you'll be taking more than you intend.
Ways to fail: It's fine! Even if you take all of a person's color, you'll still succeed. That's great, right?
Limit: 2 rewards
